    Dear Chithramma,

We're back... sometimes such holiday trips get more stressful than usual working days:)

Thank you soooo much for the lemon rice tip. We had nice home-made dinner and lunch on sat and sunday. I also prepared rawa upma mix but very smartly left it at home:bonk. we had that y'day for dinner anyway with jain tomato chutney.

on friday made made mac-cheese since kutty refused to have early dinner. this came in soo handy and he had happily on the way. also made cucumber-channa dal. it is a very exotic dish, really.

have a wonderful day ahead, Chithramma.

    Latha

    Dear Chidambari,
Ven Pongal is such a creamy delicious tiffin - no wonder, your daughter likes it!
For mango halwa, you have not follwed this exactly:

Heat ghee in a kadai & roast the besan on a low fire till a nice aroma comes.

If the besan turned brown, the flame has been slightly high or the besan, old.
The slow patient frying is the most important tip here!!
    Love,
    Chithra.

Welcome back, Latha. There are some dishes which can never bore us & lemon rice is one of them.
Cucumber channa dhal can be made with lauki also, if desired.
    Thanks & stay tuned!
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear Chitramma,

On demand, J made Tomato Bhath (his own version) for me yesterday... And I made Semiya bahalabath for him... Both were really so tasty.. I think my vocabulary should be improved to write about your recipes... Semiya bahalabath is such an easy dish and still so yummy and so soothing after a mild spicy tomato bhath....

    Love,
    Vidyaa

    Dearest Chith,

I made MW Macaroni cheese for the little ones today for dinner. Little V loved it, though he initially made a face, and then reached for more and more. M turned her head away, and would only have dosai thayir. But mom and son gulped it all down!!:cheers

    Love

    Dear C,

I made chilli bread, had to fix something quick as we went shopping. This was done in a jiffy. It tasted so good, my husband said he will "try" then he finished a whole lot.

Made kadappah, by reading the name I thought it is very complicated sweet. After seeing FB recently, I read through the recipe and made it. I liked it, it was good, had it with dosai, I think it will be good for idiyappam also. My husband didnt like it much, he said it is bland :( But then he always resists new dishes and it is difficult to make him try. Now he likes lot of dishes from your treasure trove, I am happy.

    Love,
    Priya
