OMG, i just cant beleive this and who will not fall in love with them, dear, pls include me also in the list

My Dear Dear Jaya,

I absolutely love your FB. Jaya, the poem is beautiful.

The beauty of these kids cant be described in words. They have a serene look. We are always on the quest for serenity and here there are small kids already there.

And the best part is they havent let their blindness come in the way of achievement. All so wonderfull skilled.

Marvellous. Blind see thro their mind's eye while we thro physical eyes. The depth of sight thro mind's eye far accurate and clear than physical eyes. Even today i wonder how Surdas was able to so accurate details.

The beauty of our face we cannot see unless we carry a mirror, imagine we can't do anything when we look at the mirror. But for the blind they carry a beautiful mind which needs no mirror and can be experienced by themselves and others . This mind sees far, experiences the world ,they are such lovely people.
Thanks for making us realize that we shd be gratefull to the divine and also my mol who is doing a big role here.

I am absolutely dumbfounded. I sincerely :bowdown to Mrs. Suhasini Manjrekar, and to you. In a world where people deliberately turn a blind eye to things happening around, on the contrary, its really sad to see that these little ones miss out even the little happiness around us.

Giving such a wonderful show, you have boosted the confidence of the little ones multifold. Not jus' a speech on stage but a complete dance performance. This sure deserves a standing ovation. :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap

RS, these kids are so very talented , infact we just saw some pf their performances . There is so much more they want to show and despite the whole day of dancing they were still full of zest to do more. Isn't that absolutely awesome.

Simply superb, I'm speechless with admiration at your feats...

Reminded me of a theme-based BharataNatyam recital by a group of visually challenged boys and girls in Bangalore about 4 or 5 years ago. They mirrored all the expressions of Rama and Sita and the other characters so well, it was difficult to imagine, i think the all-seeing inner-eye helped in their perceptions...Subsequently, they were invited to perform abroad too!

Glad to know you approved of the post and i must say an Fb from you need to be laminated.)

You know SS, we always hear about the ahcievers who are challenged in some way but witnessing these kids who are achievers intheir own right was an overwhelming experience. IT was incredible to see the flawless performance.

I must add here that the efforts put in by the founder and her team is definitely worth an applause. Infact one of the trainers who accompanied was a student of Suhasiniji 36 years back and is now a professor for mentally challenged kids, and what a splendid work he's doing.

Im sure there is a great future for all these children oinly that they need the help and support of you and me to be noticed and recognised.

I could not agree more with you about the heady positive influence such people leave on us. I have seen the blind at very very close quarters on a daily basis and I have to totally agree with you on your observation that we learn some crucial lessons on how to live life from these blessed people. Their enthusiasm and their zest to learn is amazing. After seeing the way they operate there is really no room for any of us normal people to crib about anything in our life.

If people like us can do whatever little we can to be that encouraging and supporting friend to them in any which way we can, we surely should.

I once heard an interview of a well known and well placed blind person in Mumbai talk about how even the successful ones like him have their low and frustrating days. Days when their blindless seems like an unsurmountable hurdle. He said that even on those days we try to put a brave front, be cheerful and do not show our dark mood to even our close ones because we detest being sympathized with. I had heard this interview more than 15 years ago but these lines that he said have never left me. I translated these lines from him as - it is probably much much harder for people with disabilities to ask for that much needed help and support that they may need because most people already look at them with sympathy and pity (well meant of course, but it still hurts them) and hence they do not want anymore of it.

Given the above, I think it becomes all the more important for people like you and I to give them that support sans sympathy.
