    Dear Rina,
If you do not have any obvious issues, let nature take its course.
Do not anticipate issues in the beginning.

Typically, if you are on pills, you need to stop them and wait for 3-4 months for your periods to become regular.

If you are thin - as in really thin - then and even otherwise, start eating on time, healthy & preferrably home cooked - less oily food, fresh veggies, fruits. Calculate your BMI. There are lot of web sites which will guide you on what should be your BMI based on u'r height and body frame (thin, broad etc).

    Start doing some exercise.

If you have irregular periods - they would be ok when you are on pills. But they may again become irregular when you stop pills. So, if you have irregular periods or lot of pain during periods then consult a gynac and understand what the problem is.

Take some folic acid supplements - best taken after consulting a doc. I will not advice any names.

Do you have any hobbies like reading, singing, cooking, listening to music etc? Try to engage in that activity daily - it will relax you a lot.

Make sure your husband is relaxed too. Don't hesitate to consider any tests required for him - in case of doubt. He has to contribute equally to the process.

Try to find out your ovulation period. If your cycle is 28 days - then typically ovulation will be on 14th day before next period starts. You can chart your body temperature or use Ovulation Predictor Kit. I see you are in Pune, so I am not sure where you will get it in India - although now I am in India.

But I would say - don't be too methodical if not required. Increase frequency of IC to every alternate day during mid-cycle.

Actually, just relax, enjoy the experience. Things will fall in place.

If you do not succeed within 6 months of TTC, then consult a specialist. You may be good with some multi-vitamin and relaxation.

Hope this helps. All the best.

    Hi Rin,
I think Infinitehopes has given enough information!
Try to be healthy first, like Stop the pills or any contraceptive method to make your regular cycle, Eat Good nutritious food and do Yoga and meditation and more importanty be positive towards TTC, before you actually concieve.

    All the best!!!!!!

    Hi Rina,
Welcome to this Forum. Wish you a happy married life!!! All the very best to your TTC.

In TTC, the first keyword will be Relax! Don't stress yourself. Don't expect everything will happen immediately. Take your own time to prepare for TTC. Infinitehopes explained you many things. Follow them.

My advice would be: try natural TTC for some months without much expectation. Then consult a gynec & get the basic test done to know more about your body status. Since you are just 6 months married, wait for some time in natural try(at least for six months to mark 1 year of married life!) By that time you will be little more experienced in TTC & all family situations & you will be ready to take the role of mom!

Anyway take a good care on your health. Eat healthy to improve your body strength & immunity!

    Dear Rina,
I have read some other posts, where they have talked about change in their cycles -when husband stopped using contraceptive.. So looks when your husband stops using precaution - you may want to observe your cycle. Read some other posts - which may give you additional insight.

Its really sweet that you want to take precaution and you are planning 4 months ahead. Its good - because generally they advice to start some multi-vitamins and folic acid tables 3 months before getting pregnant. So right time to think about it.

Well planned ! Enjoy your married life !

    Dear Rina,
I never have any pain or any problem during periods. So I never consulted a doc for the pain - so don't know what they would advice.

I am sure someone reading the post - with similar symptoms - will guide you.

I personally prefer a 'conservative' gynaecologist initially, as they are more willing to give you the chance to improve with low to no doses of medicine. Some aggresive gynac go for much invasive procedures right from the beginning.

I want to conceive from Last 8 months

I am a 30 years old girl married for nearly 3 years. For the last eight months I am trying to conceive. At first Me and My Husband consulted a gynecologist and she prescribed me Folic acid, Ferrous ascorbate and Metformin Hydrochloride tablets. As I had a little tendency of Hyperthyroidsm ( T3 1.27 ng./ml; T4 9.48 mcg. /100 ml and TSH 5.14 micro IU/ml) so she gave me Eltroxin (50 mg). After taking Eltroxin my thyroid profile came out as ( T3 1.15 ng./ml; T4 10.53 mcg. /100 ml and TSH 1.42 micro IU/ ml). The ultrasonographic test of my lower abdomen gave everything normal ( endometrial thickness 0.6 cm and cervical canal is normal).
My husband also gone through semen analysis and the result was satisfactory (Total sperm concentration 46 millons/ml, Percentage motility 40 %, Liquefaction 35 minutes, Mortile sperm concentration MSC 18.4 millions/ml and Sperm Mortility Index 122 ).
My normal menstual cycle is 26 days and I do bleed for 6-7 days. But during August 2008 it was prolonged for 10 days and I consulted my doctor who prescribed me Duphaston(10 mg) to take from the day 16th of my Periods. Also she prescribed me to take Letronat (2.5) from day 3rd of my periods. I was back to my normal cycle in the next month and as I was having severe weakness, indigestion when I was taking Duphaston so I stopped taking the medicines though my doctor suggested me to continue the above two medicines for three months. But during November 2008 my period stared on 18th day which was abnormal and so I went to the doctor. When she came to know that I had stopped taking the medicines she again advised us to continue for three months. She also prescribed me to go for Folliculometry test on day 9th, 11th and 15th of my Period after taking Duphastone for one month. The Folliculometry test revealed that the Endometrial Thickness was 8 mm on day 9th and It become 9 mm and also the cyst size in the left ovary grows to 19 mm in diameter on day 11th though the right ovary had also the cyst which was 10 mm in diameter. The doctor advised me to take the HCG injection immediately on that day and I took it. On the next day i.e day 12th the Folliculometry test gave the fact that ovulation occurred. As usual I continued Duphaston from the 16th day as my doctor prescribed. But I noticed a small spotting in cervical mucus on 17th day. I contacted my doctor and she prescribed to continue it. Though there was no such spotting further but my normal cervical mucus flow stopped totally. I again bleed on the day just after completing the dose of Duphaston but it was too much light. From the 3rd day it becomes somewhat heavier but still it was much less than my normal flow. From day 7th suggested me to take three tablets of Mefuon(I can not spell the name correctly) for three days because I was still bleeding very small. But after completing this course I was still having spotting irregularly and that’s why she suggested me to take Meprate (10 mg) from the day 13th for 14 days. I went for a pregnancy test which gave negative results. After this I am continuing Meprate.Though I am taking that and my bleeding has stopped totally but I am till worried very much that what is happening with me. It seems that the medicines has changed my normal cycle and also my hormonal profile. We are very much expecting for a baby but also very much anxious about my body. Kindly advise us what to do next.

Re: I want to conceive from Last 8 months

    Hi MehaSweta,
Welcome to Indus Ladies. Please go throught the forum etiquette.
Welcome to this group. Relax. I am not good at those medicines. Anyway i let me tell you something. If your are confident with your doctor, continue with your medicines & don't stop it without her knowledge. Likewise while starting a medication & any treatments, ask in detail about them & what is the expected outcome from that. That will help you in doing better. First address your medical issues in your body. Then give a good try!

Be patient. Never loose hope. Be confident. Everything else will fall in your path to make you pregnant. Take care. All the very best to your TTC.
