    Re: Sree Mahalakshmi 108 Namavali

    Dear Bhargavi,
    Nama means name
Avali means list ( pertaining only to God).
So, namavali means list of names to God.
    Love,
    Chithra.

Re: Kamakshi Shlokas - Sanskrit verses in English & Tamil Fonts

    Dear Bhargavi,
Mookapanchashathi is in praise of Goddess Kamakshi, composed by sri Mooka kavi.
There are 500 verses & 5 shathakams, each consisting of 100 verses.
    They are:
Arya shathakam; padaravinda shathakam; sthuti shathakam; kataksha sathakam; mandasmitha shathakam
Mookan means "dumb". This kavi was born dumb and was blessed by Devi Kamakshi to talk. Thereafter, he composed these verses, in praise of Devi.
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Re: Sri Lalitha Sahasranamam

    Hello Mangala,

Here are the links for 2 sites where you can find a lot of stothras on various deities . The first link contains the text of the Sahasranamam -- the 2nd. link contains the downloadable audio , [ I think !! :) ] 'cos I cannot read Telugu.

    Hope you find them useful,

    Re: Sri Lalitha Sahasranamam

    Hi mangala

I think PARVATHA-ENTERTAINMENT FOR ALL - Powered by vBulletin had lalitha sahasranamam by priya sisters.

they are good. to learn, the clarity in their pronounciation is good. but you can learn from balamurali's cassette. it is slow and clear.

Sivananda vijayalakshmi is very good, but she is little fast .

    Love
    shanthi

Re: Kamakshi Shlokas - Sanskrit verses in English & Tamil Fonts

    Dear Chithra,
This info is truly amazing...great are the Devi's graces...that a born dumb poet could compose and sing in praise of Her, thanks to Her Divine Grace!
If you have Mookapanchashathi, could you please post it for us?

    Thanks and love
    Pavithra
