Hi Sindhu: Thank you. Yes, I did have a cursory glance at r2i but have yet to take a detailed look at the site. I should have a more detailed look - might get hold of some good tips! Thanks again, The other Sindhu!
Thank you for your kind words, Sabitha. Felt double terrible with this move in mind that I missed the meet. But then I am hopeful, since I have a week's time between 15-23 Nov. when I possibly can make one last trip to London. Let me see how it goes. Will keep you posted. Sindhu
Thank you for your wishes, Gowri66. Thanks Sundarusha. Yes, the school we have finalised seems right but I will know once the children have settled if it was the right choice. While it is an interim choice, I would love my children to continue there since it gives emphasis on sports which is unique. Sindhu
HI Latha: Thank you for your wishes. Will surely write in my settling down experience. Yes, it is true what you say - I have seen my children bond very well here because in the cold winters they had only each other's company. While in India, I know they will be playing in different groups - so questions arise. While I feel at home with noise in India, my husband loves the silence here. There are so many angles to just one move, that it cannot be the same for another since we all have different priorities. But yes, my children missed badly the evening play with friends. They seemed much happier in India but how that works in long term we have to see. Every place of refuge has it's price. For us, personal development has been very good here but we tend to think that emotionally we will be happier in India. To cut the long story short, like you said, let us see what destiny has in store. I seem to be using this word a lot these days Thanks again, Sindhu
Hi all I am new to this forum. Like Sindhurao we are also planning to move back to India(Chennai) in next year before school starts. Please somebody tell me school admissions in Chennai. My daughter is in year 9 and she will be going to year 10. Is this easy to get into schools and can she cope with the public exams. Please I need advise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:help:help:help
HI Samiya: Welcome to Indusladies! If you check the Chennai school forum (click on the link) you will be able to get lots of information you need and also put across your queries to the local members there and I'm sure they will be able to help you out. My personal opinion is that you should start your enquiry at different schools at the right time - around November (or now) and get started with shortlisting schools / writing (email) to various schools, checking their admission procedures, etc. This will help your daughter get admission for the new academic year. To be honest, at your daughter's age, she will take sometime to adjust to the schooling system in India. If she has done some schooling in India in the past, she will probably find it a little easier. This is just to give you the real picture. Hope this helps and all the best wishes with your move. If you do have questions, let me know and I will help to the best I can. To make it easier for you to go find your way through Indusladies, do go through forum etiquette and new member area once. Sindhu
Dear Sindhu, Same Pinch. I am moving back to India in the 3rd week of Nov. Your post reflects almost all of my thoughts. Am I sad... Yes .. i am. Am I happy.. Yes I am. I have almost all the feelings bundled together.. happy, sad, frustrated, anxious, confused and what not. But I guess at the end of it..all things happen for God. Added to the anxiety about kids settling down, I also need to worry abt me and my husband settling back in our jobs (though it is the same co). Guess, I can just go blabbering around. All i need is someone to hear it. Anyways, Goodluck to you on your move. BTW, i am moving back to Bangalore. The thought that I can actually be a part of some of the ILites meet in person, definitely brings a big smile to my face. Cheers
