Hello Chithra and everyone here at IL
Happy Karadaiyar nombu to all celebrating. Its been a while since I posted here.Ofcourse that doesn't mean that I haven't been trying recipes from here.Chithra's recipes are the only ones that I try with enthusiasm only because I know its foolproof.Iam going to set aside a day and give fbs for all the recipes ive tried. If that proves to be exhausting Iam jsut going to start afresh from here on and be regular with my review/fb.Hope you are all doing well.
Chithra,I sent you a PM yesterday.Hope you got a chance to read it,.

    Dear ChitVish,

I celebrated the exit of my jet lag with nice soft nombu adais, (vellam and uppu) and chanted the Kamakshi slokams in your posts with the laptop beside me and tied the saradus. It was a nice mix of tradition and technology :clap .

Thanks so much for the slokams and recipes.

    Love
    Vidya

    Dear Mrs. CV,

I made nombu adais yesterday and it was super soft and tasty. As you said i made it by soaking the raw rice method. Since i dont have an Indian mixie it took almost 2 hours to powder the flour and the end result was worth all the pains and i'm going to buy coffee grinder to prepare next batch of adais next week.

Thanks a lot for the wonderful recipe and i really miss our indian mavu mills

    Dear Vidya,
I enjoyed your post about how nicely we blend tradition & technology !
Yes, laptop is God send in the kitchen now !
Thankyou very much for the F B.
    Love,
    Chithra.
    My daughter Ruby tells me, that sometimes her servant-maid tells her " உனக்கு அந்த குழம்பு தெரியலைன்னா கம்ப்யூடர்லே பாரும்மா - அம்மா அதிலே கொடுத்திருப்பாங்க" !
She uses her laptop in the kitchen, often for recipes !!

    Dear Vidu,
    Thankyou for the F B.
For quite a few of our recipes, our flour mills are a boon. Try making mysorepak with freshly ground besan - unparalleled !
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Re: I love sweets!

    Dear Chitra Maam,
I have a query about Mysore pak. I tried it following the instructions given by you. All was going well till the last step, i.e. after adding ghee in 3 instalments, I kept stirring and when bubbles appeared in oval form, I started thinking if I should shut fire or continue for a while. I didn't exactly know when to stop because of which the mixture got somewhat dry in the vanali itself and so it turned out to be tasty 'Mysore pak thuul', instead of Mysore pak.

I must mention that I have always made payasam/kheer/halwa whenever there was a necessity to make sweets. This is the first time in my life, I ever tried a burfi type sweet. So, would like to know
    1. For how long should I keep stirring the mixture on fire, after adding all the ghee?
    2. Should I be keeping the fire in medium or sim?
    3. Any other tips?
