    Dear Chitra Mam,
I would like to know how to cook rice little more softly in the Oven. Presently i've come to ISRAEL (Tel Aviv) on office work. We are provided with Microwave Ovens. I got best quality rice from India. To i cup of rice i have added 3 cups of water, kept in oven for 6 min. Rice is cooked but little hard. The oven is not containing any knobs to adjust the temperature.

    Kindly suggest.

    Regards,
    Nandhini

    Dear Chitra,

Yesterday I prepared Drumstick Porichakuzhambu for lunch. It tasted divine. I especially liked the peppery flavour and the taste of the drumstick. I found fresh drumsticks at the Indian store ,so bought it right away and made this dish. This is definitely going to be a regular in our home. Thanks for this wonderful , tasty and easy recipe.

    Dear Nandhini,
It is not easy if there are no knobs to adjust the temperature.Add a little more water & give it a "Resting time" of 15 mts. Fluff up with a fork.Just try!!
    Love,

    Chithra.

    Re: Idiyappam

    Dear Chithramma,

I didn't know sevai and idiyappam are different. I have a doubt on the latter... the ground rice and maida are to be steamed together?

    Hello Mrs. C

Just finished making Mock peda. It was amazing:thumbsup. I bought khoa from store and grated it and added 2 cups of it, Maida 2 cups and Sugar 3 cups.

I can't believe pedas can be made so easily. It was done fast and the only thing was I was unable to shape pedas in the end(I got distracted and it cooled down a little). But i was able to roll it into a ball. I don't mind the shape as long as it tastes good.

My daughter loved it. Have some khoa left. Expect some more fbs.

    Thanks & Regards

    Dear KB,
Holding both ends of the drumstick with both hands, if you can slightly bend it, it is good!
    வளைக்க வரணும்.

    Re: Idiyappam

    Dear Latha,
Yes, both are different. See my recipes for both.
For the latter, read recipe in detail. Only maida has to be steamed.
    Love,
    Chithra.
