Re: help on making firm & round gulab jamuns

    Dear bhuvaneswari,
So, you are A G R's sister?? Great!!
Please try regular GJ with either khoa, if available there or with milk powder - I have given both.
I am never in favour of ready mix, because it is often, as we say in tamil "vachan pozachan" !! :biggrin2:
    Love,
    Chithra

Re: How to make firm & round gulab jamuns

    Dear B (of A-B sisters!),
Please go through the entire first page of
Check here - The Recipes Index
Angel cake, Carrot halwa, Cashew halwa are all very simple to make. Just go ahead & try confidently. You will be amazed at your ability!
First go through the tips on making sweets & about sugar syrup patham gven in the second page of recipe index. That will help you. Any tamil name you want, please ask me.
    Good luck!
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Need recipe for Thenkuzhal

    Hello Mrs.Chithra
My mother, Mithila Kannan told me about your recipe page on indusladies. I had no idea that it is more like a recipe reservoir! Iam amazed at the huge number of recipes that you have so generously shared with people.
I tried to locate the recipe for Thenkuzhal on your pages but did not succeed. Could you give me a simple recipe; i would like to use readymade flour.
This is pretty urgent as I need to make it early tomorrow morning.
    Thank you and regards
    Sangheetha

    Hi Chitra Mam
Could you please tell me the recipe for veg/onion samosa?Actually my only doubt is regarding the dough. For regular potato samosas we use maida(refined wheat flour),but do we use the same dough for onion samosas or is it the normal wheat flour(used for chapatis)? The onionmixed veg samosas are more crisp, hence the doubt. And also the folding method of is also bit different right.I love those samosas so want to try.

    Thanks and regards
    Priti
