as soon as i come to work i login here to check the updates... so happy to see everything went real good. relax now as soon you going to drink coffee with your dad and talk about all the things...
I just marched down to ICU to see my Dad The nurse says he's still getting prepped and give it 20 min or so
@SuiDhaaga All will be well and he will be able to come home safely. I am glad you have worked out a post-operative care. Do not hesitate to take home-health care solution if you get overwhelmed. I am sure insurance will cover this for such a surgery. Ask your hospital whether they have home-health service as there will be continuity in care. Relax and enjoy the company of your dad now. Let God shower His grace to you and your dad.
Right now i am sitting with my Dad. Anesthesia is wearing off and he is sleepy RN said I can talk to him He is breathing but heart rate is low. This is normal because they just put new valve in and because of sedation.
@SuiDhaaga Always remember, ears will always function whether someone is in sedative state or not. He can hear you even if he is unable to respond. Tell him that the surgery is successful and he would recover soon into normal life. Hearing this from you will make a strong impression in his subconscious mind. Be positive in all your conversation with him.
maybe he is still in sedation.... yes talk to him good things.. he will be off seadation in couple of hours..
Not completely out of sedation Nurses said it took long time for him to come out because he is lethargic (poor sleep due to having to use bathroom every hour) Speech is slurred but I can u understand what he says There is general iv line to give medicines. They cannot take it out hense he is not allowed to get up Instead he has suction cup. Nurse said he urinated an hour ago My Dad was screaming in frustration that he wants to get up and urinate and we were trying to explain him. They were about to use catheter on him and I explained he us extremely sensitive skin and a prostate issue. When i tried to explain background medical to nurse she says she knows what she is doing, had been doing for 36 years Biggest concern is to get proper speech back
