This recipe I learnt recently - quick bisibelebhath with poha. I also make BBB with cracked wheat routinely! Surprised how well it turns out. I always eyeball and cook so going to try my best to give you a recipe. 1 cup moong daal. 2 to 2 1/2 cups of shredded cabbage cook these two in a pressure cooke along with BBB powder, tamarind as needed, salt. After the release of the pressure, wash poha and add to the BBB mix in the cooker, stir and cook in low heat for a couple of minutes . It is ready! Same directions for cracked wheat also. Do share pictures of what you tried @Rihana Dear @Anisu , can you share the kootu recipe please?
@ Srama, The kootu recipe is 1 cup moong dal ; 2 cups chopped/shredded cabbage ; 2 spoon sambar powder, 1/4 cup coconut ; 1 spoon jeera, lemon sized tamarind. Fry moong dal till the raw smell goes. Cook cabbage and moong dal. Grind coconut, jeera. Now add the grinded paste, sambar powder, tamarind paste to the cooked dal and cabbage and boil it. Give the tadka.
Gosh. I hate cabbage with a vengeance. But for the family I sometimes make Cabbage Mulakushyam also popularly called cabbage errisery. Lots of recipes on YouTube. Yes, you can freeze cabbage. I shred and put it in small single use serving ziplocs. Don’t thaw it much, just add it to the pan/dal and it will thaw out quickly. Same with any left over spinach/amaranth leaves etc.
