I feel sometimes it is better to dodge answer a question by another question.
When i am asked, “ have you been selected”
Reply - “do you know some one to pull string?” Or a stronger one “ in what way my answer would be useful for your development?”

An unemployed friend of my son for first visited my home. During course of conversation, he put a question, “uncle! how much pension you are getting?”
My reply to him was: “ what are you going to do with that information? How would it help you?”

 

I learnt to dodge answering an annoying inconvenient questions that cause discomfiture, from a conversation with an habitual & tough behaving staff in an office that i assumed charges just a week ago.

“Dias, you are late to your seat even today. I want you to be punctual from tomorrow onwards.”
“Am I late to seat even today? Am I not punctual in the past?”
“ you have been daily late”
“Sir, am i late daily?”
Like this conversation would go on questioning the question. To do away with this staff, i posted him to our warehouse at a distant suburb where he got to reach on time.
Life is like that!
