I remember ladies line for tickets used to be much shorter than the gents line. Sometimes we bought tickets for the men if they asked nicely. : ) My brother used to be the assigned escort when we siblings or cousins went to a movie but for tickets it was one of us girls who did the important task of carefully handing over money, getting back the change and tickets.
dear @ Rihana.... I am glad that my posts and words make you feel happy. I always feel that happiness is simple, easy and everywhere, mostly within us, inspite of this what is the search for, what am i looking for? Sometimes i wonder how do i give the same happiness that i experience to people around me, since i cant or don't know that, i tell to my kids, keep your self, thoughts and actions simple, and keep your life as simple as possible without getting distracted by social media(i am not on social handles, because over the years i did not feel the need for it). I am a simple, humble woman and maybe thats why i dont fit into many circles, which is ok with me. Books are always my best and trusted friend. Sorry for the long post and sorry for diverting. Love Nandini
I am overwhelmed and happy to read your post dear. If there was an award to nominate people in IL, i would gladly nominate dear @anika987, @SGBV, @viji. Their posts are relatable, filled with life and i keep nodding my head everytime i read. Love Nandini
Dear @ sgbv Trust me this is like a fan moment for me. Getting a reply from you. I have always admired your strength, rawness, energy, vulnerability and the way you say things, you are an epitome of a human being should be, a bit of everything and a mox of everything. Love Nandini
My friend & i bunked to hot afternoon session in college reached in great hurry to buy ticket for first day first show - a Friday Release of a thespian Shivaji Ganesan movie at Wellington cinema mount Road. We found the queue pretty long and sure we won’t get to the counter. My friend decided to go to other side of the theatre to look for some condescending lady or girl to buy us tickets. A known twins in teens residing near our street were in the queue and my friend managed to attract their attention and could pass on the cash to them through that collapsible barrier for two tickets. A little later a buxom woman -a tad excited - holding between her fingers two yellow tickets came near the collapsible door loudly calling, “hey! Where is my husband?” Several hands simultaneously went up shouting, “Here I am”.
