Since when clothes became a factor to measure one's maturity?

I dress as per my comfort and situation..I live in a city where people wear trendy clothes and is a fashion hub..while growing up I had many Anglo Indian friends whose moms or grand moms wear nice frocks and shorts...it was in 90s..no one judged anyone...why should we wear clothes according to our age ...confused...

True. I would love to wear anything which is trendy but at the same time it should go well with my physique

My mom is in her 70s and still wear frocks, pants, skirts and look modest and matured and very decent.

    Hi,
I think we should be free to choose what we like to wear and what suits us best. Most important is to dress sensibly. As we grow, we get the freedom to choose what we want to wear. Till I got married, my parents would never allow me to wear jeans, midis, frocks etc. It was mostly half saree or saree. I changed my style of dressing after marriage. But would choose only pastel colours. There was an age when dressing up was to look your best, modern and trendy. As age progressed, I dress in what is more comfortable.

Nowadays I see many teenagers wearing small length t shirts showing their navel. More modern the girl, bigger is the exposed area around her navel. I can never wear a t shirt like that at this age of early 40s. Younger people have bold dressing sense these days.

    they say...if you got it...flaunt it. ;-)
However for me, At 40+, it prefer to dress comfy and appropriate, not like wearing polys much, strapless, one shoulders etc anymore when i have to lug my children and worry about something busting out or shining straps
with my daughter to think about what ' that.
I think with time, preferences change. Yes, on/off i want to feel like youngsters or dress like them but i do not.

So @OP - I feel, if you can afford and you feel right, get it and keep it for those days you feel confident and happy.
We all have so much stuff in our closets that we reserve for such days ..and hardly see daylight. No harm in adding one more..if you think you will be confident enough one day to wear it.
