    Hi OP

    If your sole purpose is only dough making for small family, any gadget will add the hassle of cleaning, if you are often into baking as well like homemade pizza/cakes/brownies then Kitchen Aid is the best hands-free investment. If you dont own any food processor that helps with chopping then cusinart does both dough mixing and chopping with mutliple options. I do have both of them, but I don't use them for dough mixing on weekly/daily basis for family of 4.

    Try a bread maker and use the dough-only feature. Some bread makers cost as little as 50 on sale. Clean up is easy, too.
