I am thinking to buy air fryer mainly for kids breakfast / lunch options for packing. We are family of 4. As much we love fried food like pakoras, pooris we do not fry at home much mainly health reasons and smell of oil in the house.

    Different reasons i am confused
    1. Most air fryers have teflon/non stick basket which makes me worried if i am using it extensively
    2. Which one to buy - i have toaster oven at home, i have big over at home, i have mini indoor grill/contact cooker at home which work almost same way. All are in storage. Do I need another gadget?
    3. If i decide to buy, which one is best in the market. My budget is upto 150$.

It pretty much like fat vs cancer... pick my disease.

What is your use case? What kind of recipes/dishes do you intend to make?
At your price point, IP vortex is a good buy. Many friends have the Cosori ones as well. There are more options, but it will all come back to the above questions.

My use case - all indian foods mostly. For kids and kids lunchboxes - pakodas, nuggets etc.
At home, we do not fry much, because of oil spill overs , mess it makes, smell ( specially in winters) and oil wastage.
We like eating fried food but not making fried food.
I heard its not exactly same flavour. And you can not make poori's etc.

If I have to buy big one, i have big over and even counter top toaster over.

IP Vortex / Cosori would do the trick for these.. The big advantage is SPEED. In the time taken to preheat your big oven, the snack will be ready.
Yes, Can't do pooris (though there are some YT videos). But work really well for : cutlets, nuggets (chicken / veg/tofu), fish fingers, potato / sweet potato wedges, pakoras...
I love how even Indian lunch sides eg: potato fry/plantain fry/okra fry all come out, with minimal supervision.
    And reheating fries, samosas

I think my post kinda sounds like an air-fryer ad:facepalm:, but it is a good buy esp. when you have kids.

Just wanted to add that stuff made in air fryer taste best when eaten hot.. not sure they would be good if you pack them for lunch.. others can weigh in on this.
