Yesterday while asleep..suddenly I saw my door close by itself and two hands (could feel the sensation very strongly) grabbing my hands..The moment I screamed..everything was normal.

I am sure you guys are thinking it is a dream but I strongly felt the sensation.

Two incidents like this happened in my past.

When I was in my 11th grade..when I rolled over in my sleep....a very horrible disfigured person was lying next to me and when I screamed..parents came rushing into my room.Even my dad mentioned I remember vaguely " Is there a ghost in this house"?

Again after coming to US, In 2005, it was around 8 in the morning..I felt few invisible figures groping my neck and holding me very tight and I felt breathing. The sensation was too much and I felt crushed and finally I gathered strength and everything looked normal.

Do spirits exists or has this something to do with some Alpha, thetha, beta levels..something I researched about..

Have you guys experienced anything like the above?

    No @anika987 no ghost exist.
Prolong anxiety, tiredness, fatigue, insomnia may make anyone hallucinate.
During semester exams, while studying late night I would hear my name being called its actually the fear of exams than anything else. Not for all exams I would hear, only the ones which I wouldn't have studied.
    Chill relax

There is something called sleep paralysis. Maybe you experienced that. If you feel strongly that there is something supernatural, think about your favorite deity at that time and they will disappear. I haven't experienced like you, but many times, almost 4-5 times so far, it has happened that I felt something was attacking me in my sleep and I was shouting God's name, sometimes Lord Krishna, sometimes Durga Devi and I have gotten up after a couple of minutes. There is nothing better than God's name to counter such happenings.

I used to be a non-believer, and I am a science student. But, after my father's death in 2017, I have felt his presence a couple of times. There is a very easy way of recognising spirits. They will invariably shake your bed when they arrive. They can also touch you.

No, ghosts don't exist. What you experienced is just sleep paralysis in a semi conscious state where you know you were not in sleep or dreaming but you are not totally in your senses either. Its normal if it happens once in a blue moon.
Our mind displays what we believe in.
To be honest, I am inti scientific profession and there is neither God nor Devil/ghosts.
But I do worship Gods, I follow all pujas (though simple manner what I can do).
You may ask me why do I do then when I don't believe in Gods existence?.

As a science student and now professional, what is true is that there exists "energy" which can be positive or negative.
When kids are scared of something, they spontaneously seek the safety and comforting hugs of parents.
Similarly when we adults are into troubles in life, we need someone to guide us, to tell us that everything will be fine. That entity is God. Worshiping Gods Godesses and observing rituals festivities etc brings positive energy and aura in your home and in your mind and soul.
When something doesn't happen what we want/wish, we go to God and pray.
But we know that for something to happen, we have to put effort. Just sitting and chanting God's name 24x7 wont fetch you with what you want.

What helps is the calmness on praying to God and that belief that God will surely help you if you put sincere efforts. Also, we might feel guilty when we say something bad or do something wrong and be afraid what if God/karma punishes us. This makes humans to be cautious to behave cordially with others (ofcourse nowadays people are all fake who worship God yet harm others knowingly!).

Coming to ghosts, your fears would manifest negative thoughts and energy and if you believe in ghosts, then you might link that negative vibes to ghost.
In real, all living beings have soul only till they are alive. Once dead, they are nothing but merge with dust. Sad truth.

Keep a dream catcher in your bedroom and lit some scented candles for peaceful sleep. Keep your lights dim or if possible entirely switch off. Meditate 5mins daily before sleeping and thinn only about good things and gratitude.

You will notice these ghost/sleep paralysis will reduce n disappear

Three scenarios you mentioned are answered here.
This could be before going to sleep , after-effect of reading a story with similar scenes or watching a Tamil movie in black and white Vikram venal or Bedal.
    Or
This could be before falling asleep, after-effect of watching movies like Hollywood Omen & Omen2.
    Or
This is connectable to reading or watching Harry Potter.

The Bard of Avon lived between years 1511 & 1564 and the belief of spirit/ ghosts he had that he used it for right effect via dialogues of his point of view in Macbeth, King Henry IV and so on.
In 'Macbeth', in Act 3 and scene 4, Banquo’s ghost appears to remind Macbeth of his evil deeds. Similarly, Caesar’s ghost’s statement stirs Brutus’s conscience for his past acts and disturbs him as he ponders his future battle.

Those who read J. K. Rowling, ‘Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince’ and seen the movie would.
Is spirit and ghost are one and the same? Spirit is good when flesh is weak - an English proverb.
( it was translated roughly in Russian - vodka is good but mutton is rotten)
Ghosts and spirits appear in sleep in white robes with out legs but not in deep sleep to remind, indicate and warn the evils associated with or committed. Views of para psychologists and astrologists widely vary. According to latter, If anniversaries are not remembered & performed, the spirits haunt the person and his wards.

Some even believe divine trees like Neem are dwelling place for spirits/ghosts. Certain person behaves differently are considered to be possessed by spirits and they need thrashing in kali shrine infront of the idol. They need to be slathered with turmeric and vermilion paste all over their body!

Tamil Saint and poet Avvaiyar was haunted by a ghost from the neem tree but fearless that she blessed the spirit itself to liberation. So here I believe in existence of spirit/ghost.

Sometimes if we have terrible nightmares, we are haunted by it, and we try to change from that experience.

It was a heavy burden on my chest. A new type of workload in a new station to a man wet behind the ears. A new imported equipment to be inspected in situ for road-worthiness. Fear, anxiety and apprehension gripping me with entrusted task, I reached Devlali by train in vee hours. A MP - military police man - escorted me from station drove me through contonement area in pitch dark. It was windy.: numerous trees branches and leaves shaking widely. He dropped me in barrack in a dim lit room. Fatigued I slumped into a coir made cot. Sleep embraced me.

Fear, anxiety and apprehension gripping me with entrusted task all entered into my sub conscious region.

A ghost behind wheels dropped on my chest and I woke up crying aloud. I saw a bandicoot was just running near the entrance to barrack. It took some time to realise it was not ghost but the rodent had fallen from roof right over me. Whole day as I was performing my duties, the ghost and rodent were behind my mind.
    Thanks and Regards.

Science did not prove the existence of ghost. But it didn't prove the non existence either.

It is just like God. The faith or the existence of God is not scientifically proved. But it is still very personal experience to people.

Two times in my life i have experienced this unexplained feeling, i guessed they were ghosts but not sure.

    1) In 2011, i had visited to the wanni district of SL & it just happened that i had to stay at our office accommodation one night.
My bad, all my colleagues left for homes that particular evening, but i decided to spend that night to finish the work before i go on a long leave.
That was the first time i stayed there over night.
After completing my reports, i played a movie in my laptop & fell asleep in my couch.
At around 1 am, i woke up to a weird bell sound in my next room.
It all started mild, but with time it became intense.
I checked my laptop, phone & other gadgets but the sound came from the next room.
So, i got scared and our security guard was fast asleep in his check post in the front a few hundred meters away from the guest house.
When calling him didn't help, i decided open that door & see.
To my surprise, i saw a bell was ringing on its own.
That's the bell my colleague uses for her pooja in that room.
I couldn't help, but i somehow had the courage to touch that ringing bell and put that inside her travelling bag & locked it. I did everything while holding my Bible in the other hand.
I still don't know how i slept in the couch a few mins later.
The next day i explained everything to my colleague, but she said she has taken her pooja stuff, including the bell with her while leaving that evening.
We dug through her travelling bag next day, and there was a bell inside which was not hers.

Later, that security guard said, a righteous women lived in that house and she often performs mid night poojas while she was alive. But she was killed along with her family during the war, and later UN renovated that house as their staff guest house.
I felt her presence that night when i was alone there.

    2) When I was in Rwanda during 2018, i experienced another encounter with a spirit.
That was a boring Sunday mid morning. I was laying in my hotel bedroom and almost half asleep after the breakfast.

During then, i felt someone was pushing hard on my face. That hand was so tough, that i couldn't push it away. I felt like i was chocking, unable to scream for help. It was a few mins of struggle, and that hand left me after that.
I woke up and felt it was not a dream. The moment i woke up, i could sense someone shut my door so i rushed there to see who was that. But the door was locked from inside & there was no one.
That experience was so real, but later i guessed it could be sleep paralysis too.

However, after few months i understood that the quiet hotel where i spent that day in Rwanda was the place that has witnessed thousands of killings 25 years ago. The same place!
But why should those Rwandan spirit disturb this Sri Lankan girl... So i didn't dig that further.
