Why Do People Say Known devil is Better than Unknown Angel. To me, I would choose Unknown Angel than Known devil. Several times I hear/read people claim they would rather chose devil they know then the Angel they don't know. Is there something I am missing? I choose Angel 10 times out of 10!
Because it’s easier to deal with a known person since you know everything about them! But you would never know anything about the unknown angel. Who knows if this angel turns out to be devil in future??
This makes more sense. Even if the angel does turn into a devil, they can always be moved out of our lives.
@SuiDhaaga But my guess is the same person can be angel from a distance and at chase will turn into wild Devi or Devil . Also same person, few moments before was an angel and now turned into a mighty devil. Every person is capable of being both depending upon circumstances, day or night, young or old et al. I have navigated through known devils during my service who without their knowing ceased to act devilish with my area of responsibility. I have handled and dealt with union heads who were terror to my brother officers. Conversely, it can be said a person can be an angel or devilsh depending on the opposite party or parties attitude and mindset.
What you say it true. I notice lot of people who are nice generally are particularly nasty to one person due to mental disabilities, etc. And some people are devil and worse devil depending on circumstances. Maybe people didn't act like devil around you because you know how to put up barriers, how to act around them, i.e. don't show you are vulnerable.
I haven't heard this particular phrase before. The version I've heard is "better the devil you know than the devil you don't." Which simply means if you are faced with two unpleasant choices, choose the one you have already dealt with before — the one you know. So true! A nice person is not nasty to someone who is differently abled. Any person who is behaving unkindly does so because they are unkind. If they try to excuse their behavior by blaming the victim, don't buy into it. Victim-blaming is not something nice people do. There are no excuses for being nasty. .
