We all have potential at different things. We must have heard of all the fundas “You define your own limits”..”the mind can do whatever it wants”.All sounds good. However, we all have our own desires to be how we want to be. Truth to be told, majority of the population get influenced due to peer pressure and with the world being extremely competitive, one sometimes seems to overdo things whether we want it or not. Everybody can keep pushing ourselves but how far? Are you the person where nothing can stop you to achieve your dreams? Or Are you the person who is practical and will put a break if it compromises on your mental health, family or other factors? Nothing can be achieved without sacrifices. When do you decide enough is enough?what is your balance?
Very poignant question Anika! It's very important to dream. Actually, unless you dream, how can you achieve great success? But, we have to know our limitations. Not everyone can achieve everything. My cousin has been trying to pass the CA for the last so many years without any success. He doesn't understand that it's beyond his reach.
Yeah true.As you said one needs to dream. Is it limitations or fears? However,Is being a CA is “his” desires or it is out of peer pressure through family? Maybe he has the potential to achieve if it is his dream. However..if it does not work out for whatever reason..he needs to see what his passion is. That is the first step. Second step is, the “sacrifices” he needs to make to and after achieving his dream. even though you “have” the potential, will you stop once it compromises other aspects of life or nothing can stop you?
Yes, the dream was thrust on him by his father who could not achieve it. However, there was no shortage in his efforts, he sacrificed a lot. Yes, some people I have seen, despite having good potential, balked at running the extra mile after getting a mediocre job.
