    Hi all

How effective is electrolysis in removing body and facial hair? Can we do it on teens?

    Yep, its effective for teenagers.

Person should be experienced and use latest needles. Old needles will leave needle marks (they go away, but still why have it!)

Very helpful for mustache and side-burns (speaking from experience)

Thank you so much for your reply. Is it a painful process? Also my daughter has hair all over her body and face, how many sittings would be needed?

It's painful but if your daughter is so desperate to get rid of the hair, she will bare the pain like a champ. At least I did.

Sittings? It depends on the strength of the hair.

Mustache was never plucked, shaved, etc. Considered "virgin" hair, which means hair comes out easier and sittings are less.

I remember it was 20 sittings. Technology likely improved.

Also, have you considered threading and epilation. Threading can be done at home (tutorials on Youtube), and epilators are good for large areas. Braun and Phillips are good brands. I'd stick with corded ones though.

Pain is either non-existent (because you are desperate to get rid of hair), or it is tolerable. And it gets less over time.

Thank you so much dear. We didn't try any other option. Since people said electrolysis gives permanent solution we wanted to try this.

Have you looked at laser hair removal. it is also permanent, for longer parts of body.

Of course you need years of research because these things can cause permanent injury.

Lasers must be done by Board Certified Dermatologist (or at least should be on the premises). Some people have great results with laser. I haven't tried it myself though.

Thank you suidhaaga for patiently replying me. We didn't want to do laser because I heard from many ppl it isn't permanent and the pain part will be equal to electrolysis.. so far people suggest only electrolysis as the permanent one. So though of going for it.

Ahh, ok. I guess when laser technology improves you can look again.

All the best to your Daughter!
