    Dear @Shanvy
Thanks for the update of your beloved son. Glad to know his next ambition is to acquire PhD. It shows the quantum of work parents put to boost up his confidence and morale.
I wish Godspeed In his endeavour.
    God Bless.

Congratulations to you and your son shanvy. So heartening to read this. Have followed you in many threads. More than the wealth of information you shared the one thing that stood out in all your threads is that you are a good human. There is so much to learn from you. You truly are an inspiration. Prayers for success and happiness in all the steps that the young man takes.

Congratulations @Shanvy What a nice update from you! Though we have not interacted much here, I have followed you since the last 10 years or more. Believe me, I was wondering about some of my favorite ILites who are missing in action these days including you. Then today what a pleasant surprise to hear from you with such a positive news! I started visiting this site as a young newly married girl, and I must say that you are such a positive influence in my life! There are many wonderful women in this site who truly stand out and are great role models to emulate. I consider you one among them. Perseverance pays! And your son is a shining example of that. May all his hopes and dreams come true!

Coming to this thread of after a long hiatus, not intentional but not in great health so I cannot engage in posting much.. the reasons and causes is too long and boring...

Thanks a lot to many of you who have been sending enquiries and queries on this thread and elsewhere, but sorry for not being able to help you out.

Was forced out of the hiatus to share some interesting observations that I had discussed with a friend who is also part of this discussion and practically forced me to share it here eventhough she could do it herself

Update 1 : The young man is a doctoral student completing 2 years and his research is garnering attention from professors around in the same field. let me just say he is in a place where he is happy to work yet as a parent I am stressed and scared most days. I can't share much about his research until it gets published..

Update 2: The young man is still disorganized at times, but is able to travel countries on his own for his conferences..yes i do keep a tab on him and sometimes guide on his finances and some food related queries otherwise he is able to manage..

Both these updates to other mothers who have sleepless nights on whether our kids will fare well in life.. recently came across a genius autistic kid on a flight. told the mother, be strong, trust your gut instinct, trust the process, trust your child to lead you along with your knowledge and guidance. it is a tough journey but then we have been assigned the duty of being parents to these angels for a reason..

So many of you know my young man fell in the spectrum and still is .. but during a small session or discussion with some young parents i realised the man was and is hyperlexic and dysgraphic .. seriously never realised he was hyperlexic till i retraced back memory lane..and it is a problem even now.. his supervisor has a tough time and the young man tell him that maybe you should have a discussion with my mom...:tearsofjoy:.. he still hates writing and has a huge back log and pressure on submitting his research and even drafts ..

But what I realised must have helped my son was trusting my gut instincts, and my natural logical thinking that led to help him. we are talking about 20 yrs back with not much information available at the touch of the button ... young parents today have loads of help out there once you acknowledge instead of being in denial.

Hi shanvy, long time also I have not been regular here. Nice to read about your son. Also hope you are free of your health issues, well, at least to some extent. I think of you now and then, and your readiness to help, give assistance...
I really admire the moms with special kids, going through that extra, hmm, everything, since being a mom extracts the best in all aspects from a woman. I can also understand better, since my daughter is working with special kids with so much dedication and I have heard her talk with lot of affection and understanding about each and every child she comes across.
    Kudos to you all..!
