Crash landing on you is so intense! So much of drama than I am used too. But still I cried with them, laughed with them and enjoyed every moment watching it. Ending was a bit confusing. Soo Yoon Se RI and Jeong Hyeok stay together for 2 weeks every year? Can't North Koreans immigrate to other country?
Finally the Crash landing on you ending has sunk in. And I am no longer seeking if my assumptions are correct. I did massive Google search read about various version of people's idea of the ending. I have to say it's such a tragic ending- my heart is heavy with sorrow for Yoon se ri and captian RI. They will never be together together. Unless caption Ri's parents die and he can become defecators. Why is forbidden love so hard to understand? Is 2 weeks enough to be with love of your life? When you have all the power and money. Is it just love what's missing? will you wait for your soul mate for 11 months 2 weeks? Sorry for the rant- I had to write this, before I burst out crying
Thank you for starting this thread! I m so bitten by the k drama bug and no one to talk abt it. I feel exactly the same as you hv mentioned here. Never been crazy abt watching anything till now and now cant stop thinking abt this k drama. It has healed and ruined me now. Amazed with the storylines, ancillary characters that are not mere props, all the food and everything else! Empress of Ki Crash landing on you (CLOY) It's okay not to be okay Hometown cha cha cha Something in the rain Mr. Sunshine One spring night Descendants of the sun Encounter Vincenzo These are the ones I hv watched. All in Netflix. 'Something in the Rain' is the most favourite and hv just finished watching it again. So happy to see this thread! QUOTE="blindpup10, post: 4219532, member: 459378"]I am bitten by K-drama bug!! My co-worker introduced me to K-drama. I just can't tear away from it now. All I think about, talk about, read is k-drama or Webtoons!! 1. The TV show focus on the story not on the character expressions 2. It is soo relatable. 3.Culturally I can grasp around 85% of the socitieal structure 4. The actors can really ACT!! 5. The language is so soothing on your ears. 6. Actors are so cute 7. I love how everyone is so respectful to elders. I dont know how to explain this feeling!! It's almost like I am in love with k-culture (atleast what's represented on the TV) I just wanted to share this! If you have favorite show or talk more about k-drama please share. I want to indulge more of this obsession!! Also why am I this obsessed?!! I just can't think why!![/QUOTE]
I also loved "Something in the Rain" @Rihana I do enjoy happy endings and do not like supernatural - but I ended up watching "Goblin" and was blown away by the humour, emotions and the acting! Crash Landing On You - so many people have been telling me - but it is a war story - so I have not yet tried it... I like Korean, Chinese, Taiwanese dramas too - Refresh Man was a recent favourite, Ode to Joy, Go Ahead, Love 020, Go go squid, What's wrong with secretary Kim, Fight my way, oh my venus, something about 1% - were some that I enjoyed. I like the settings, culture and stories in Thai dramas too, but the screenplays are toooooo loud, full of insults and violence Many of my students suggest the more "teen love" - I do watch them to make my students happy, but it feels a bit fluffy for me Glad to see so many "sisters" enjoying kdramas!
I have been a little busy and I haven't had the time to watch or rather read subtitles. So haven't watched too many. Recent watch-- 1. Squid Games. 2. A Korean Odessy 3. Hellbound 4. Inspector Koo But I still watching A Korean Odessy- and I am amazed that their gods are similar to Hindu gods!! Either I am looking for similarities that aren't there or at some point, everyone worshiped Shiva Parvathi under different names. It's not far-fetched as there are Hindu temples in Japan. If anyone watched A Korean Odessy- Please tell me that the Devil King is Shiva. Son O gong is Hanuman (obviously) Queen Mother is Parvathi. And it's not me who is making connection that isn't there.
If you liked "What's wrong with Secretary Kim?" or like work place dramas, I'd highly recommend "My Mister" on Netflix. It's about a 40+ married man and a 20'ish young girl with financial worries. I wouldn't call it an office-romance drama, it is more like an unconventional bond between them developing due to unusual circumstances. The lead pair's story is nice enough and you will also find the side-stories about their siblings very endearing. To read a synopsis without spoilers, try My Mister - Wikipedia
