I feel truly sad. It will be a long, long time before an actor of his calibre will again come to illuminate our lives. What an actor he was!
When Madhumati was released in Chennai, I lived right opposite the theatre where it was released. The theatre owner's son was a close friend of mine. God knows how many times I saw that movie!
Naya Dhaur was another one in the same theatre. OP Nayyar had tuned some trendy numbers in that movie.
All good things will have to come to an end. So it seems...

The first movie of thespian Dilip kumar movie I saw in Wellington Mount road Madras now Chennai was Aag. I simply watched the movie without any understanding. But I liked his way of blinking most of the time.
I saw madhumathi as costumes worn by the characters had enamoured me. I saw it star talkies Triplicane in 1959 night show. Those days Hindi movies never used to be released in chennai on the same day it used to be released in north India. I was residing just close to the talkies opposite Murudis cafe.

He is considered Great institution and inspiration for nextgen actors.

Very sad news indeed. I've enjoyed his movies. Many of the songs remain my favorites to this day. He will be missed.

    Truly an icon beyond comparisons.
His soft voice and his acting talents: no words to truly describe his magnanimous personality.

    RIP Dilip Kumarji
    We will truly miss you.
