I came there, as usual late. You weren't seeing me at all! I only wished you to have stayed, Didn't force you, I never shall! Calling you, I smiled and then asked, What you wished to have at that time. "Coffee!" you said curtly and asked What I would have. I said, "Sweet Lime!". That's how it's been always for us. Neither looks, nor the interests, Choice of words, social status, All differences put to rest, When we found each in the other. It didn't happen in a day. Many bright and gloomy weather Saw us getting close and we stayed Together for what seems to be Just a few days. In fact its not! Like the ebb and swell of the sea, Our life was. But its a start. In fact the only one I had. Things happened. We lost our cool. Blamed each other but then we had Moved on like children in a school. Then came that terrible day when We both had crossed our limit. Our bonding had seemed to thin From then and you chose to omit My calls too, having moved away Far from me without any note. Knowing you were safer, I stayed Where I was, like a stupid goat. All things good and bad are flashing Before me as I sip my juice. No words yet. You are not seeing My eyes. Perhaps it hurts you close. Swallowing my ego, I say "Sorry!", you aren't just swayed. "One last time!", I shout. You won't stay. I sit down, not knowing my way.
Thanks @Viswamitra, for your appreciation and feedback. Surprised to see your feedback to me, in this section sir! Happy to receive it though! -rgs
Dear @rgsrinivasan Ten stanzas enough to describe a besotted love that transport minds to situations of Unrequited love or one-sided love . The pent up emotions of a male lover brought up succinctly that gets eyes welled up. Many poems, novels and movies cross the mind with situations and emotions as entwined in your above ballad. Thanks and Regards. God Bless.
