It is probably to get reality check. No point in turning a blind eye to the happenings. Only when we know what happened, what could have been done etc we can do something about it at least later.

I agree that it is hard to watch misery after misery. But we need to remember that many people have the strength in them to watch it and do something about it. So many people were saved by every day heroes who didn't try to look for positivity. They saw the problems and did something about it. So showing the ground reality is needed whether an individual is able to stomach it or not.

It is not just about Modi. For what it's worth Kejriwal disappointed me more than Modi. But the truth is, Kejriwal still responded to the terrible situation that he was also responsible in creating with more empathy and didn't persecute the people who struggled for oxygen and hospital beds or those who tried to help.

    Brevity,
We already know reasons for Today's Covid crisis and what has been going on in India through other media sources like news channels and news papers. I thought we don't need special bulletin here. Anyways, If you really feel someone gets inspiration from whatever posted in this thread to do something good then I don't mind.

Not nothing. It caused much amusement among people... in all states.
A big beard and a bushy, overhanging mustache can effectively cover the mouth and nose, two thirds of the entry way for the corona virus aerosol to get into a person.

One mask-rejecting duck-dynasty style guy on American TV had such a prolific beard that he could simply fold it up over his nose, and wear a sardarji chin-net and stop the virus. Duck-dynasty guys look like:

NaMo's Rab'T may not have worked out in Bengal. You must concede that a Rab'T who cannot speak Bengali is a real stretch. None of the duck dynasty guys pretend to be poets. Hair is not curly enough for rap.

While all of us here in India are living in the present (may 21), you still live in the past (may 5th news).

if Modi is elected out in 2024, will he still occupy that house?
If the answer to the above question is no, then is it Modi's house?

Every morning crores of Indians despite living in a shithole in times of a ravaging pandemic, wake up and try to survive that day in this grim situation with the added chorus of doomsayers, working, getting groceries, sharing oxygen cylinder sources, verifying them, alerting others of scams, using twitter and whatsapp status messages for information.

And here you are: probably in the comfort of a well developed country where the pandemic is well managed and sitting in that comfort, picking up articles that portray doom and using it as fuel for your Modi hatred in the name of bringing out the reality of the country - in a predominantly NRI filled forum who are already worked up about the life of their dear ones in the home country.

''Because I feel sorry for you.''
    ''Why?''
''Because every morning, you have to wake up and be you.''

Staring for long till the crush stares back is an 80s/90s kid thing. Abyss might not be the name per se; maybe it's those 'elephant in the room' questions like 'are we in love', 'will we be married any soon'

The below is dated May20th where ICMR director talks that they are nowhere near herd immunity.
If you have the latest article which contradicts this statement do share.
COVID-19: India is nowhere near ‘herd immunity’ yet, says ICMR director
