Nice thread. Definitely have to try Pothys and others once the lock down is lifted. Thanks for sharing. What is the best way to get books from India. A combination of school text books and other books ( Amar Chitra Katha, Ramayana, Mahabharatha, and other fiction/non-fiction books and regional language books ). Also, can you please share any place to get food items and fresh ground spices ordered from.
Fabindia have nice collection of nightwears, girls wear, kurta pajama set, they don’t have nighty but ankle length kaftan are available. They are pricey but quality is good and soft. I think for international shipping they charge 20$+ if the order is less than 100$. Did you checked tawa in Amazon and eBay, your local Indian store. In Mumbai area garudavega adds pickup charges. I am not sure in Bangalore and Hyderabad locations.
There are sellers from India and Sri Lanka who sells fresh raw spices in eBay. I have purchased once raw spices. Even Indian comic books are available in eBay.
I was looking exactly for Fab India kind of cotton. I ordered tawa as of now from Amazon but I keep extras at home normally because I change pans every 6 to 8 months mostly.
Zishta Inc | A Journey in Search of Traditional Cookware they ship to usa submit the order and they will send you quote including shipping . they do 10-15% off randomly just look out for codes or ask them . The quality is really good
Anokhi USA also has beautiful prints in excellent soft cotton. They have kaftans, tops and some other clothing items. It is pricey but they have good sales every now and then. The quality is excellent. I have pieces for several years that still look good.
Lodge cast iron pans, griddles and skillets work well, as good as the Indian ones. Biba.in also has international shipping.
For dosa, I have been using lodge cast iron pan. It's awesome . You can also look in your local Indian store. Indian Wedding Sarees: Indian Dresses, Ethnic Clothing, Bridal Outfits Check out this site for
