"The protests attract every type of people who require different types of amenities. Cannot we give liquor to the sick. We have to strengthen the andolan (agitation) in a different way," Vidya Devi said.

Announcing a march in Jind in support of the farmers, Devi said it would give the Congress a direction and new lease of life in the state. "We will organise a padayatra in Jind district that will attract large crowds and will give a new direction and lease of life to the Congress. We lost our existence after losing the elections. The andolan was revived as the farmers have a strong will. Now, we have to run it," she said.

Farmers' protest over farm bills: Let's decode MSP puzzle

In September this year, the Narendra Modi government increased the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for rabi crops. In June, the central government hiked MSP of 14 kharif crops. Before that in October last year, the government had announced an increase in the MSP for rabi crops.

Still, the thousands of farmers are sitting at the Delhi borders for a week seeking a guarantee that the government will not end the MSP regime. The single-most worry on their mind is that the new farm laws, passed by Parliament in September, would ultimately do away with the MSP regime, they are familiar with for selling their crops at a guaranteed price.

The government report -- NSSO survey of July 2012-June 2013 -- showed that less than six per cent of Indian farmers (over 9 crore agricultural households) have benefitted directly from selling their wheat or rice under the MSP regime. This means an overwhelming majority of farmers could never become part of the income guarantee scheme for the farmers in so many decades.

Well not in India alone. Foreign hand is working in America also. Russia's hand in the victory of Trump. Modi's 'Abki Baar Trump Sarkar' 'Howdy Modi' 'Namaste Trump'. For years, two superpowers USA and Russia influenced the formation of Governments in various countries. Now China has joined them. India too is doing it bit in neighboring Government. It is good in long run to have a puppet government.
As for recent case connected to Farmers' agitation, activists (read Andolanjivies) will can not far behind to air their views as that is where their voice is heard by ready audience. The problem arises when Government in power see them as a threat to their very existence. It is another ploy to divert attention from the man issue.

True, sir. It is so hard in this age and era to really know what to believe and what not to. However it is difficult to ignore evidence when it shoves itself in our faces. Like when little Greta's tweet exposed their own plot.

All that everyone wants is that our national interests and security should not be affected, that we should be able to live as proud citizens a sovereign country.

What I see here is a government that is feeling insecure despite having a brute majority in parliament. Had the government been so serious about "instigative" remarks it should have sacked the "Goli maro salon ko miniser" and the Delhi BJP leader who made communally inflammatory remarks before Delhi riots should have been arrested. Nope. Here only accusations stare at us, The charge is a conspiracy to defame India. "Defame" is a word that can be interpreted in many ways. What A sees as criticism, B may see it as defamation. They have just made charges and the onus of proof is on them.But using a British era sedition law that has no place in a civilized , democratic society, they are trying to intimidate dissenters into silence.

No wonder the protestors are keeping "supporting" politicians miles away from themselves.
Netas of almost all hues talk rubbish. Yesterday one BJP leader, not a small one but CM of a northeastern state, announced that the party has plans to capture power in Nepal and Sri Lanka. As for the R-day violence , doubt whether they were farmers. They couldn't have appeared suddebly before Red Fort and near the Income Tax office without traversing a long distance unstopped by police. Either the troublemakers (Headed by a Punjabi movie stat who was BJP's star campaigner in the last elections in Punjab) and a small time mafioso_ And he nation flag atop the fort was not dishonoured. A Nishan Sahib, the holy banner of Sikhs (not Khalistan flag) was hoisted in a pole far shorter than the one with the tricolour. There is a trafition of hoisting the Nishan Sahib on red Fort to commemorate its hoisting there by a Sikh general in the 18th century. Of course the vandalism at the ticket counter of the fort is condemnable but there is no need to tar all protestors with the same beush. The main rally of the protestors remained peaceful.

If the govt was to arrest all who make inflammatory remarks, a certain leader of the opposition who does nothing but call the PM all sort of names should/would have been in first. I agree, time to haul up all those making inflammatory remarks. Enough is enough. Criticism and healthy criticism is one thing, but calling the PM names, going hammer and tongs at the govt and criticizing it if it does, criticizing it if it doesn't is not exactly healthy criticism. Dragging in foreign newspapers and politicians, supporting countries which are anyway out to make trouble for us is not criticism - it is defamation. You have a problem, state it clearly. They don't mention what problem they have with the laws. Just a demand that it should be withdrawn is hardly the democratic way to go. Dissent is fine if it is justified with good reasons. If the only reason be we want to be in power and want to get you out any how is not good enough. Even if they do not say that, (actually I did share a link yesterday where the leader of the oppn has been stated to have said that he wants to discredit the PM's strength which is why they went on with the Chowkidar Chor Hai campaign and now the Hum Do Humare Do campaign). He seems to be desperate to discredit the PM and it shows in the infantile actions he indulges in.

I have provided enough links to prove my point. There is no meaning in my going on any more. I just have to respectfully agree to disagree, because I can see you are determined not to see the other side and you could say the same about me. So nothing more is to be gained from this discussion.

The farmers want a statutory guatantee for MSP and APMC. All the government os giving is promises . Last eioght years clearly show how they keep their promises.
