One woman who was wearing large bindis in Sabarimala and entered forcefully, was wearing a burkha in the anti-CAA. The same woman was wearing a pagdi in the tractor rally!

I really feel sad for the Delhi police. 300+ of them got beaten up, not one person talking about that! I was reminded of the Jaliawalabagh scene after seeing the videos - the police were running away from the "protesters" who were attacking with swords and knives and running them down with the tractors! The police did not fire a single bullet!

But if one protestor/violent person would have got hit - they would have created hue and cry and intolerance and would have got the entire world's support to remove a democratically elected Govt of India

The guy who died after tractor gymnastics - even when there was no bullet fired, the news anchors standing there with live relay - said that the police fired and thats why he died!!
Obviously the news anchors had a script! After that news, the tractor rally people injured so many more police personnel! Even after that guy's autopsy, they were still saying that he was shot! That is the amount of fake news they spread!!

This is the same thing that happened in 2002 and also CAA riots - the news anchors report lies and fan the riot further. I dont blame the Govt for cutting off the internet there!

 

Balajee, there is also a fine line between dissent and causing anarchy. If they have a right to dissent, the common man has the right to movement through the city.

1. They were offered a place to protest. They did not want that.
2. The govt agreed to many rounds of talks with them. Nothing was acceptable to them.
3. They asked for permission to bring their tractors into Delhi. The routes were agreed on. They broke the agreement and went to the Red Fort. There they pulled down the national flag and threw it down to raise their Khalistani flag. This by the standards of any country would amount to sedition.
4. If this was suppression, they would not have been allowed to sit on the roads and block movement of normal people - even those who might need to go to hospitals in emergencies.
   If this was suppression, the police would not have stood by without reacting when they were being run down and dumped into pits on the sides of the road.
   Are democratic 'rights' only the right of some people and not of the others? What about the rights of the common man whose life and routine is held to ransom? Are not the actions of the "tyrannized" protestors tantamount to tyranny?

If Greta is an "18 year old", not worthy of being responded to just because she is too young, then is she not too young to interfere into internal politics of another country? She can't have it both ways. If she is adult enough to raise her voice, she is adult enough to be responded to.

They have not responded to her. They have used the documents she tweeted as a basis for the FIR so that they can call the people mentioned in it for investigations...

Let me ask, why is there an issue with the farm bills only in a handful of states? Other states want the bill. Leave aside all the politics or even the fact that this was what the famers demanded earlier, something that the then govt wanted to introduce and has been introduced now by this govt - the fact is that it is upto the state govt to implement or not implement it. So let those states not wanting it not implement it. Why should they object to its implementation in other states where farmers might want the bill allowing them to sell their goods wherever they want to, to whosoever they want to?

What is the point in having elections, parliament or a democracy if every law introduced has to be withdrawn just to satisfy a handful of individuals who demand that ..... and why? Because .....

I doubt these protests have anything to do with farmers or their interests. Am sure even if the bill was revoked, the protest would continue on some pretext or the other.

The govt has been constantly reiterating that there is nothing in the bill which says anything about revoking MSP. If protests are launched on hypothetical fears and misinformation, there is no end to this. This is purely a "throw Modi out and let us (Congress and hangers on) rule" campaign. The idea is to discredit by any means and unseat a democratically elected govt, only to grab power again

Exactly the same farm laws - these "protesters" fathers protested FOR them 40 years ago, these same "protesters" protested FOR them 20 years ago! It has been on the parliament table for the past 20 years... millions of farmers commit suicide - they can be saved with the new farm laws.

Still Govt said we can delay implementation, states can decide whether to implement or not!

Anyway, I have seen videos of these "protesters" saying even if you repeal the laws, they will continue the protest ! So you know exactly what they want!
