I know 5K is too much for mouth guards. If you can get a second opinion from any other dentists and if they make one for you that will be good to try and see whether your pain improves. Then you can be sure pain is due to TMJD and go to specialists and spend more. Hope you feel better soon.

@drdiva , How to get it diagnosed? I have pain in the lower jaw under ear and neck. Not on that tooth though. My dentist suspect a little bit that there might be a fracture. My pain is constant burning pain and those spots hurts to touch under ear in the jaw and neck.

@drdiva my dentist took CbcT scan not the Endo. Dentist want me to try extraction and implant. Implant costs around 6k$. He also said that I might have same pain and symptoms after the extraction. So in that case we would have removed a tooth which we need not to. So he says I have to take that risk and try if it helps with my pain and symptoms.

But the Endodontist whom I consulted said no extraction and he want me to try RCT and crown. He is an Indian only. So I trust his opinion. I am scheduled for the permanent crown next week. The dentist said I can try the permanent crown and see if it helps. If it doesn't improve, he said I have to try extraction.
I didn't get tmj treatment yet. The tmj specialist said I have to finish all dental work before his treatment. I don't know how to proceed further. I have started a conversation with you. Please check it.

What u are doing is right..first dental work has to b completed bfore going for tmj treatment.
Only thing is in India we give crown only when the pain subsides..And u can tap the tooth to see if the tooth is the reason for pain..if on tapping pain is therd there is problem with RC /tooth like a fracture

    Thank you @drdiva.
I went for follow-up with my endodontist before getting this temporary crown.
He tapped on my tooth and I had little pain. He gave me a tooth sloth and I bite on it and felt bit sensitivity and discomfort. So he said it might be from the crack line on my tooth and told me to get the crown. He didn't say anything about tht tooth fracture.
He didn't see my cbct scan though.
I contacted a radiologist from India to get the report for my cbct scan. He saw the scan and gave me a report. I sent that report to my dentist and Endodontist. Endodontist didn't see the cbct scan images. He couldn't open my cbct disc images in his office system. But he saw the reports which I got from India radiologist. The report says, there is a suspicion of tooth root fracture in distal root.
Endo said , he couldn't say about fracture only with cbct. He also see clinical diagnosis too and he said he couldn't see anything during his evaluation. So he told me not to extract.
My dentist saw the reports and suspect there could be a fracture. But he also telling me that if we extract that tooth, if I have symptoms even after that, we would have removed a tooth which we need not to.
Dentist want me to try crown and see if it helps. I don't know if this fracture is the reason for my lower jaw pain under ear and neck. It's constant burning pain and hurts to touch.
