    I am talking about the cost in the US only. It was around that price a few years back not sure about the current price. The one your dentist quoted seems to be a reasonable one and also mostly dentists recommend trying the nightguards first. In my opinion, try some nightguards first to see whether your pain improves before going for any extensive treatment. Usually, any treatment for TMJ including nightguards is not covered by insurance and not cheap either.

    @MalStrom ,
    That prove for the mouth guard made by the dentist sounds right.
    What does it mean?
    Yeah, I have HSA card. But unfortunately I don't have enough funds in hsa now to spend on this. The payment is one go out of pocket. Or they have care credit. I haven't used that before. Can we use the HSA card money to reimburse later?

    Sorry, I meant price. As for HSA I would check the rules for your account since different places have their own rules.

    No infection in x-ray. The dentist suspect a tooth root fracture and want me to extract and implant immediately after that.6k$ for that. No cavities on that tooth. I went to dentist for the reason of lower jaw pain under ear and neck.

    I went to Endodontist to see if any fracture. He couldn't see any fracture and told me to do RCT because that tooth had some sensitivity to bite on one spot during tooth bite test and sensitivity to cold during cold test. So I did rct and temporary crown after 8 weeks of rct.
    I would have avoided this root canal, but did this to rule out this tooth issue as a cause for my pain and symptoms.
    I still have the same symptoms. Now my dentist telling me to see if it improves with permanent crown. If not, asked me to extract it.
    My PCP want me to try physical therapy and also consult a neurologist to check if it's nerve pain. So, it's very tiring and frustrating to go around without proper diagnosis.

    Yeah. It's not covered under insurance. It's the same price everywhere. I even contacted a provider out of state and he quoted save 5k$ for the mouth guards.
    My dentist is not ready to do the guards for me. He want me to go to the tmj specialist and get it done.
    I have got one otc mouth guard from Amazon. Tried it for few days and it was very uncomfortable for me. So stopped using it. Will try some other brands again.

    Thank you. Dentist price is quite reasonable, but the tmj specialist is very expensive.

    Some sensitivity of the surrounding gums is common following the placement of a dental crown, due to irritation from the dental cement.

    Thank you. It's been 2 weeks and I still have the same sore pain on the gum and tooth.

    If there is no infection in xray and RC properly done..there could b a root fracture
    You can go for aCBCT..a scan that can evaluate the RC for root fracture or a missed canal. Dont go for a crown until The pain subsides..Furst these things have to b ruled out ..then go for a TMJ specialist

    @drdiva ,
    I have taken a cbct scan already in the month of June. Dentist suspect a tooth fracture from it. He said just a probability of fracture. But the Endodontist couldn't see any fracture in her evaluation. But Endo didn't take a new cbct or see my cbct images. Only clinical diagnosis.
    Whether tooth fracture cause pain in the lower jaw under ear and neck?
