What I was referring to was kids learning a third language in addition to English and the local language. Why is it destroying any culture? If anything it only adds to a child’s knowledge not take away from it. I didn’t get this? The founding fathers of India oppressed the people of TN by writing the constitution in Hindi?
That should be preached to the states that are lagging behind not to the states that are moving forward. Yes obviously they lacked the basic understanding of India as a multi-lingual country.
I am not “preaching” to any group of people in any state. It was a personal observation to a parent and if she doesn’t like it she can leave it.
There was such a thing called "Munshi-Ayyangar Formula" used to come up with that "official" designation of a language in the Indian Constitution. After much discussion and debate between the Hindi-only faction which wanted a "National language" designation for Hindi-in-Devnagari-script, and those who did not go along with that, "official language" was the compromise wording in the M-A-F. It allowed English to be used as an official language for 15 years, before Hindi-in-DS can become the National language. That transition (supposed to have happened in 1965) never happened.
Every hardworking family around the world is doing that trying to make it better for the next generation.
Wow. Just wow. You are deriding the people who wrote the constitution so you have this right to even talk about it. FYI, you wouldn’t be having this right without them. They did fight for you to have this right.
Acknowledge the mistake that they failed to recognize all the languages in the union and have a process to heal and not provoke by pushing a single language. This is an example of what happens when you oppress people based on race, religion, language etc etc
