    Hello!
    I got a hydrangea plant from the store. It has not flowered yet, and is quite a small tender plant. The weather in the Midwest has not made up it's mind yet, though it is officially Summer. Can I go ahead and plant it in my garden now, or should I wait until fall to plant it? Can it stay in the same container, or do I need to repot it? I'm a novice at gardening, and all the info on the net is baffling and not clear to me... Please advise.

    Awesome! I wasn't good at keeping them alive but my neighbor has amazing hydrangeas and they are in the shade with partial morning sun.

    If you have put them in a sunny spot, perhaps you can consider replanting them in fall but if they are thriving, let them be!! I have learnt that with plants.

    Do share sosose pics if you get a chance.

    I believe Hydrangea are perennial and thus come year after year even if you leave it outside.. thus planting outside in summer is good start for it to grow...

    @Srama Sure will! I've planted them in a sunny spot, it does get quite a bit of afternoon sun too but I didn't have an alternative spot.. I kept worrying about it, but finally planted it upon my spouse's nudging (shoving?) that I could transplant it in fall if it wasn't thriving (just like you say!). :) So it is more of an experiment right now.. gosh, I so love them!

    @SKoundinya :thumbsup:
