A small nondescript Village called Vasind around 100 kms from Mumbai was suddenly in News. There were strange incidents of some getting injured by unknown and even one or two were supposedly killed. A local Tantrik was suddenly getting famous as he was claiming the presence of some Spirit near an abandoned farm house which was causing these incidents and warning locals around not to venture near the farmhouse. All kinds of stories were spread by the people within the village about the spirits or ghosts that happened to reign inside the house There were a set of non-believers too, though they did not dare to go anywhere near the house. Some local newspapers also reported about the ghosts occupying the unoccupied house, though no press men dared to go inside the house. An armed Police Constable posted to keep guard of the house was also found dead next morning. He reportedly died of a heart attack, but the people in the town attributed it to the evil spell of the ghosts.

This caught the imagination of the National Media too and suddenly in a few days’ hashtag #Vasind also got trending in Twitter with people discussing whether Ghosts exist or not. Even psychologists and few Politicians got embroiled in the debate with few cynics questioning these whole incidents as a figment of imagination being created to divert attention from high inflation and unemployment around the State.

Unaware of all this fuss, he was lying in her arms. She was caressing him. Their eyes were filled with love. He met her just a few days back in a chance encounter. He found her to be his perfect life partner and they were deeply attached with each other in no time. They felt alone in this cruel world which offered them no private moments or even space. People kept intruding in their lives. No place seemed safe for them. Both of them were happy with each other. They did not even care to know much about themselves.

Love knows no boundaries and is often blind. But love seemed to be in danger of getting ruthlessly destroyed by this cruel world which does not understand the meaning of true love. The couple were in love and kept wandering together unaware of the insecurities lying ahead.

“Look, I know a place where no one would be able to spot us.” She told him.
He happily followed her. He was strong, muscular but found a sense of tranquillity in her presence. He was deeply in love with her. They had come a long way and did not want anyone to disturb them. They found a seemingly unoccupied house and were overly eager to go inside. The surroundings of the house were lush with greenery and the picturesque setting was enough to keep them interested.
He climbed the gate of the house and jumped inside. She followed him as he helped her along. To the backside of the house, there was a well and the backdoor was found open. He peeped inside the well. He could see water and began feeling thirsty. But how could he drink this water as he would have to jump inside the well.

She gestured him to come with her inside the house. He abandoned his thoughts of drinking water and followed her.

For the first time he got a bit scared. He did not want to come face to face with someone inside the house and unnecessary create ruckus. But she would not listen. He followed her inside the house. There was pin-drop silence around. Even the wind seemed to stop near the windows of the one-storied house. For a second, he felt lost and got really cold. He could see suddenly a bright light around him, but where was she?

    “Thwack!”

She was slammed into the wall. A line of blood trickled down her chin.

He was startled to see all this and her dead face. He did not know what to do and rushed out of the house but found himself injured. But more than the injury, he was writhing with the pain of having seen her dead face suddenly without any reason.

As he came out of the house and started running, he could suddenly find few men circling around and running. A pellet from the bullet zipped past him fortunately by the ear but the excruciating pain made him collapse to the ground. He was in pain and cursed himself for choosing to come with her to this place.

He was lifted and taken along by some armed men and kept confined. He was shouting around trying to bring their attention about her death but no one seemed to understand him.

“The #Vasind mystery is solved” was the Headlines in a Daily English Newspaper next day.

“The strange incidents and some unnatural deaths in Vasind has got an explanation. It was not the handiwork of any ghost or unnatural element but of a Lion which has lost its way from the Sanctuary.”

“औरशेरकोपकड़करबोरीवलीपार्कलेजायागया।“ was the news in Dainik Bhaskar.

He was back to the forest but was feeling alone missing her presence. He could still visualize blood trickling down her face. His heart was broken. A new tag was inserted inside his neck and he was being tracked wherever he went. He felt hungry and started looking around for his next prey.

    ---END---

Many have come across Ghosts but will seldom reveal it for the fear of being called as irrational. The others who have not seen Ghosts either ignore it or would not like to believe it
