People mature by experience and circumstance. People mature from trauma, religion, conditioning and in some cases cultural training.
When we understand, we grow. Age just changes the skin. But experience; that changes everything.

It is mind boggling. Monks suggest terrific mental & physical exercise - not just only accept thing as they are. To get into that mode one has to equip himself or herself with so many virtues.
