Difference Between Full Saree And Half Saree

Half saree is different from saree and it includes lehenga, big dupatta and blouse.
The blouse and lehengas match but the dupatta will be contrast.

Half sarees are quite common in South India where mostly young girls and unmarried women wear this instead of saree. But from few years even married women started to wear this for occasions as fashion keeps changing.

The basic difference between the two is that 'half & half' saree is a one-piece saree where the pleats are in contrasting color compared to the rest of the saree. And the half sarees are actually half the usual sarees and is a traditional dress worn in South India by young girls (between puberty & marriage)

 

Half saree isn't really half of a saree. A small contrasting piece of cloth is tucked into the petticoat of a growing child, and the other end of the cloth goes over the chest (to cover up the growing breasts) and over the shoulder to form the pallu. Because there is this pallu over the shoulder, it seems like a saree, but there is really no saree at all. Like this:

In this picture the actress is wearing a red half sare, one end tucked into the petticoat at the middle, goes around her back and comes over her chest and goes over her shoulder. This is the half saree. And by the way, this girl is just too old to be in a half saree.
