If this is not to happen, Indian mothers need to be independent, occupied with life outside the family and self-satisfied. Indian mothers should have a steady income - or EPF/Pension will do They should have their own house, to themselves They should be independent enough to get around on their own, self-driving/Uber/public transport Know how to deal with the procedures in places like the hospital, ticket counters, shopping malls, restaurants, etc They should have friends, go out and indulge in hobbies. This way, Indian mothers won't cling on sons and trouble their daughters-in-law. The solution to most Indian families' problems is Indian women being independent and having a financial standing. Let's work towards this. It benefits men too. Change.

I read the post @Amulet But I am not sure how it relates to the post here...or may be I am missing the point. I like your way of looking at things and mostly I understand. I understood below: Were you saying that Thanksgiving is based on something bad that happened? (it did- many don't like the original event behind it) NRIs say excessive thanks? ( this is true, same as excuse me and bless you.) Desis do say thank you when needed and in a good way (true) But I also like to say thanks for little things, when someone passes me salt, or the cleaning lady, or office guy who empties the trash can in the cubicle. I feel, I love to say thanks. But may it point to not say to Desis, lest they think something. Desis, do not like a lot of thanks, they can take it as any thing- like sarcasm, offence etc
Nithyananda's honest speech- in tamil. Not sure if the additional '3' movie bgm was added by him or to mock it.
