Anju was serving breakfast to her children who are studying in primary school and called her husband to eat. Prem came with his office attire and suit case to the dining table. Seeing halwa in the table he asked if today was a special day. His wife lovingly told that it was his birthday that too 40th birthday. So children ran towards him for celebrating with a cake cutting and restaurant dinner. Prem saw his doting wife and told that he will return earlier for a grand dinner and hugged his children. He took his car and left. His children went to school. Anju recounted her married life which was blissful with a loving husband and beautiful kids and counted how lucky she was. Prem never raised his voice at her or children. God was merciful to her. In the evening by 6 o clock children and Anju got ready and waited for Prem. A call came saying Prem met with an accident and was no more. Anju and children felt doomed. After 10 days of the incident she got up and wanted to move on for the sake of her kids.she got his LIC fund from LIC plus pf, gratuity fund from his office, she cried a lot while getting those papers. She wanted her children to get a decent living. She does tailoring as a hobby. Now she did that to support her family, she took tuitions in the evening. She tried for jobs , luckily she got a primary class teacher's job in a school. Her kids were shifted to the school she was working in . Education was free for the kids. She resumed doing master degree , she got promoted to higher class. Later she became the principal of the school. Her children completed university with good marks and good job. They became independent and ate happily married. What else a mother want. Prem's soul would surely rest in peace.
