    I wasn't a fan of upma until marriage. With no option to skip, over the years it has slightly grown on me now. I don't seem to dislike it as much I did before.

    Your story reminded me of the Maggi noodles' family ads. Sweet, thank you for sharing. Enjoyed reading your experiences.

    Ha ha enjoyed the hot hot Uppuma write up. I like upma and my kids love it because I make it less frequent. Someone instilled the idea that sooji rava is not good when young so I use it less. I do all other types of Upma except Rava Upma more frequently. Enjoyed the fbs too. Have a great year ahead

    Loved reading your upma post dear @kveena....
    Till day I relish my mom's vegetable upma or avarekalu upittu with a dollop of ghee on top and with a pice(preferably avakkai)
    My daughter loves Upma too, with the veggies and I find it easy to feed the veggies to her. .
    I add cashews and grated ginger too, for the extra taste.

    @kveena,

    Every time my MIL tells my wife "Make Upma tonight for dinner", I feel the whole world is crashing in front of my eyes. I am not a big fan of Upma. Pongal is my favorite apart from Idlis and Dosas. When I was growing up, there was Perumal Koil adjacent to our house and in December/January period, they used to sing "Thiruppavai" in the early morning hours and by 7 a.m. piping hot pongal will be ready as Prasad. The Pongal will have the right combination of black pepper, cashews and ghee. That has created a permanent impression in my mind forever. Had I devoted my mind to Perumal instead of Pongal, by now, I would have been better off.
