Do u mean "Rotimatic"? if yes , I heard about it too..saw a video demo of it too.. Amazon.com: Rotimatic - Automatic Roti Maker Machine (Official Listing): Kitchen & Dining I guess it's really good and useful, but even if launched in India it will be too expensive for the average middle class family to afford
@Needtobestrong, We are regular users of Rotimatic for the past year or so and it is very useful. We eat Chappatis at least 2-3 times a week and this Robatic System does a great job. As you rightly pointed out it costs $1,000. As we booked three years ago when it was under R & D, we got a special price of $500. I understand the Indian price is going to be Rs.63,000. Viswa
Thanks a lot! I will check these out. I too was put off because the info seemed unavailable. Don’t quite get the point of the secrecy
Hi @shravs3 and @Rakhii, Thanks but I think you misunderstood me. I was not questioning or challenging its existence, just expressing my frustration that I couldn’t proceed beyond the teaser vids. Anyway now I got lot of links to check it out
@Rakhii and @MalStrom, Won’t the rotis be a little thicker when you use the manual press? Do you roll it a little more after pressing them out? How do you fix the thickness issue?
Oh! I am sorry you had to face issues with teaser videos. If you can point me where they are, I will report it to the OPOS mods and they will take care of it; they are all lovely cooking enthusiasts. The manual press mom had was iron. Like, the really old one. If you just press it harder, it gives you perfect thickness.
Hii, It's really very easy dear. It depends on individual. Ask ur mother /sister first. If not possible then try with some atta in a paraat (rounded and sided plate). And pour water gradually and knead with ur hands until it's a dough. Make a fist and wet your hands in between to make a soft dough. Then make equal pedas shape . Switch on gas stove in between. Now one by one make roti on chakla , if sticky then put some palothan (dry atta) and do with belan and put it on tawa and make other roti. Then pick up roti on tawa and put it back from other side. Then pick up roti from chakla and put it on tawa after picking up roti on tawa then put it on other burner with chimta till the roti make. Take two tawas to fast the preparation. Don't worry it needs practice and u can. Goodluck Share it's:- Are You A Vegetarian????
The best option, buying chappatti from nearby Indian stores. Local stores sell 5-chapptis pack (south Indian style, rotis, multigrain, hearty wheat etc), daily. I buy chappatti pack for my DH. I will rather eat oatmeal! (or just eat fruits).
