    I had exactly similar issue. I had breast tenderness/heaviness 1 week before period. Dr. did blood test of Prolactin and the value was mildly elevated. I have hypothyroid problem. So dr. said it could be because of thyroid and said right now it doesnt need medication.

    @kalcandu doc tested me for both as well...but it was all normal range. she then said it may be due to hormonal changes aka PMS
