i dont know abt the itch part . but i had internal haemorroid and suffered lot. in ayurvedha shops we get something called karunai legium ( thats tamil name) .. in a forum many had mentioned that this legium worked wonders for healing .. also u can try rataula ( pidi kururai in tamil r karunai kilangu ) .. stool softeners were not much help for me .. but i had one full papaya every night and that helps a lot ... where r u & dad located . if in india , u can take treatment from good ayurvedha hospital

We are in USA.

I'll ask my Dad to have papaya at night (he eats at morning).

Hi CE ,
I hope you are doing good. I was suffering piles and fissures both some years back . I was also told I had to undergo a surgery . But I thought it wasnt that worse for a surgery and wanted to try natural ways to get out of it. I changed my diet completely
I started with Millets. No bakery/bread/corn/refined flour.... I ate a lot of raw vegetables and Millets. I found so much releif . Millets is even good for diabetes. It controls the blood sugar levels. I too had itching after passing stool. Doctor suggested me to sit in a warm water tub . It gave me a good relief. Slowly try to bring a changes in his diet and observe the changes . And I highly appreciate suggestions from other IL's as well here.

I'll ask my Dad if he can eat raw veggies with Millets.

With him, I have to ease him into it.

Thank you all for your advice. I really appreciate. My Dad is so overwhelmed with other things and I barely get time to talk to him except late on weekends.

The anal itching is 24/7, and Dad was adverse to sitz bath because he feels pressed for time.

As for stopping other laxatives, he said he thought about it so many times, but is scared to because the constipation might start. This is certainly a great point to bring up to Doctor visit, as they can guide.

And my Dad said he thought about Ayurveda many times, I guess at a certain point he will try.

Yesterday evening he said he will try IBGard (over-the-counter) in place of Linzess (really powerful medication) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

And I will keep even close look at what Dad is eating because even within fruits, there are problems.

I really, truly appreciate all your input and advice because this is certainly going to help him.

Like tincture was once used for cuts and wounds....betodine bath ....Is also a good medicinal wash for infected areas ...especially on private part.
We had a doctor friend who always recommends This.hence her name Become BETODINE AUNTY IN MY FAMILY.
TRY THAT.SURE OF CONTROL ON ITCHING.
