    Thank you @kaniths
I watched it and ..."Oh my God!" was my response too. specially those solar flares.
Seeing the video with volume on was fun; his excitement was so infectious.

    Again thanks for sharing.

During a solar eclipse, except when the sun is totally blocked by the moon, looking at the sun directly without appropriate eye-protection can damage the retina. Question - how is looking at the sun directly during an eclipse different from looking directly at it in normal times?

Not sure if this is technically correct but thought of participating in this lovely and informative thread of @kkrish .

During normal times, we will not /we can not open our eyes that widely to look at the sun and it is natural for us to keep our eyes little shut thus avoiding sudden damages. At the total eclipse time, when the moon is completely blocking the sun our eyes will be wide open and looking at the sky as though there is no sun and it is very much possible when Mr. Golden Sun comes out of the peek a boo and stares back at us with his full force, our vision might be permanently damaged partially or fully depending on the intensity. They say that our retina’s chemical sensors picks up on the presence of light and transmits the information to the brain and thus born our vision. A little of sun's brightness does no harm to those chemical sensors, but a whole lot of it can/will cause trouble. So it seems to me as a precautionary step to not look directly at the sun during eclipse.

    Hi @justanothergirl !
Sorry I was not able to post live updates. First I had no hi tech cameras, second it was an experience that I could only absorb every second - about 130 seconds!
Here is the total eclipse with corona taken by my son with his phone. 20170821_144020-600x800.jpg
