    Friends!
Xmas holidays have begun; again my routine has changed as my children are home for Christmas.
Will try to be regular from the New year.

@coffeecups I too get such headaches that lasts for 2 days and painkillers too don't work. Feel so disoriented and frustrated then. Take care.

This week was okay. I need to reduce eating out and cook something for dinner at home.

    Yesterday woke by 7.
Did LS walk 3 miles and physio exercises.
Made wheat upma for bf and rice/ladies finger sambar/rasam/carrot-beans poriyal for lunch.
Night cleaned dishes, kitchen counter, stove top, sink.
Went out for dinner with friends.

Today made dosa with drumstick leaves for bf. Had it with left over sambar.
Called mom/sis. Wasted 10-15 mins by sitting idle.
Made lunch: rice, moong dhal/snakegourd kootu, rasam
Took a nap for 30 mins.
Cleaned and arranged the shelves in bedroom, threw away unwanted/unused stuff.
    Cleaned dishes.
Swept and mopped house, cleaned bathroom, sink.
    Took bath.
    Had tea.
Hubby came home around 6 before going back to work again. Made french toast for snack.
Soaked white clothes. Will have to put in washing machine after sometime.
Sat to browse and do some office work.
Dinner will be ready made rotis with left over kootu.

Didn't do any kitchen prep work today. Will try tomorrow.

    Hi all,
    Today's updates -
Apart from the usual routine, I continued my 10k step challenge today. Yay to me for that. Didn't take my period as an excuse.
Didn't eat junk. Chose my food choices wisely. Upped my protein intake today.
Sunday I have a lot of cleaning scheduled. Hope all goes well.

After reading so many self help books/articles on the net, ESP recently, I realised one thing. We as Indian women are multi taskers. We have lot on our plate - taking care of home, cleaning up, cooking, job, kids, in-laws/parents, health - our family's and ours. Overwhelming, isn't it !
But then, slowly I'm understanding that,we need to prioritise the stuff and certain things can never be postponed to tomorrow. All these days, I kept my job/education as the first thing followed by cleaning/cooking ( I had help for this) last was my health.
But now, I realised what was wrong with my priority list. Health should have been the one on top. It's a non negotiable thing. You don't cook/clean a day, and we feel so guilty. But, when it comes to our health, we take it for granted. Well, I wanted to it a stop to this.
Apart from my regular works - I would like to take care of my health in simple ways.
    1. 5 rule - 5 portions of fruit and vegetables per day. 5 portions of carbs per day
    2. 10 k steps per day.
    3. Avoid processed/junk food as far as possible
    4. Avoid food to kill boredom/ to overcome certain emotions.
All said and done, I m also in the process of learning that, for any simple decision we make, CONSISTENCY is the key. They say, when something is done for 3 weeks continuously, that turns into a habit. So, by the time, next year sets in, I'm planning to turn these simple health changes into a non negotiable daily routine.
Hope I didn't bore u all with my talk. Just wanted to put my thoughts at a place.

Friday night we picked son #1 from the airport, went to Indian store got some veggies, and by the time we came home and went to bed it was close to midnight.
Saturday, I was still sleepy, but had to get up at the usual time because my mom needed coffee.
    Made breakfast of dosai.
Quickly put all the veggies in the fridge bins, and went shopping. DS needed some things.
The holiday crowd was heavy and we came home by 2:30 pm.
Had a simple lunch and I was too sleepy that I took a nap.
Had coffee and started cooking dinner.
    After dinner practised my music.
By this time, I had logged in only 6000 steps.
Walked another 20 minutes and went to having completed 8,000 steps.
No bedroom cleaning today. Will try to do it Sunday.

I will post, not regularly though.
My routine is going to be crazy, because I want to spend more time with the family than in the kitchen.

Coffeecups I too try to eat healthy but as you said consistency is the key and that's what I lack. I love your rules. Trying to figure out what works for me and how should I do implement healthy habits in my routine.

    Today woke very late.
Had tea. Made onion/tomato mix and had it with left over rotis for breakfast.
    Soaked rice for grinding batter.
Made egg curry, fish curry, fish fry for lunch along with rice and rasam.
Made extra onion-tamarind gravy to be used later.
    Made coconut paste and stored.
    Peeled onions/garlic and stored.
Rested and read newspaper for sometime after lunch.
    Did my physio exercises.
    Had tea. Cleaned vessels.
Browsing and some office work now.
    Have to grind batter.
Dinner will be dosa with left over curries.

@kkrish Have a great time with your family. We miss you.
