Why look for logic in movies????

Hi Meera,

This is a nice topic. Though I read it just now, I feel happy someone brought this up. I generally watch a movie after reading a review or hear that it is good. When I start watching it, my mind starts looking for logic. When I observe something not connected, I lose interest in the movie. I found that our producers, directors, actors concentrate on getting their money back and the audience look for some kind of entertainment - songs, dances, dialogues.

After coming to USA, I started watching Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Thai and other dramas and movies. Some of the dramas and movies are really good. Those heroes or heroines have no mass or class appeal. Those directors and producers address real life questions which make you think for solutions. The screenplay will be so perfect. Also, those actors (hero, heroine, other characters) they are really involved in acting though it is a small role. There are no dances which really waste the time and divert from the story line.

I hope our Indian Serials and Cinema improves. Also, they come with original story lines instead of copying from other movies.

I have no objection to any illogically made movies from either Hollywood, Bollywood or any other wood for that matter as long as the material presented is not illegal,immoral or offending general public sensitivity.Now what constitutes the latter is a subject for further discussion but will leave it out for now, since same is not under the scope of the present discussion.

Good question !

Not only Hindi movies, even in Tamil & English movies there is no logic ! Witsend

If I start quoting the scenes/dialogues, there will be no room here Big Laugh

Moreover, often in Tamil we say "Kaadhula Poo" ( flower in the ear), meaning we are being duped/cheated They are even saying "Pookoodaiyil Kaadhu" if there is too much unbelievable & absurdity in the movies...

So, better to watch the movies with an open mind. In short, expect the unexpected !

A lean man will be able to knock out 20 people so easily. Not only that, they will come for their punches one by one !! Big LaughCan you believe it?

Nice observation about Dharamji's sojourn atop the water tank!

Another good quip about Sholay is when our favourite Basanti is urging our equally favourite Dhanno to run faster when Gabbar's bandits are pursuing her using her immortal words -"Chal- Dhanno aaj teri Basanti ki ijjat ka sawaal hai ! "

To which Dhanno has reportedly replied -"You are always worried about yourself, think about my condition, I have 10 of Gabbar's horses chasing me
at the same time !

(Actually Dhanno's response sounds better in Hindi -
Tum ko Hamesha apni padi rehti hai !
Mere baare mein soch, Gabbar ke dus Ghode mere peeche pade hain !)
