WhatsApp helps if you want to avoid call / message charges. Great time pass with groups and to keep in touch with friends and family overseas. Not many privacy settings, easy to set up. You can make / hide -- Your display pics to your contacts / everyone, last seen online and message seen notification too. There are options to block ppl and leave groups. Hope this helps.
