    Dear ILadies,

I am trying to find a good and food processor for Indian cooking (at a reasonable price) for multiple needs below, what all do you currently use? I live in the US and looking for something here.

    1) Dosa batter
    2) Ginger garlic (do not want complete paste, but like the texture we get when using a mortar and pestle)
    3) chopping vegetables
    4) grating carrots/beets
    5) Chapati dough (nice to have)

Please note I am looking for other options other than Magic bullet as I already have one and it is good for Idli batter but doesn't grind the rice well for dosas.

I was using Bajaj food processor some years ago. It was good for quick chopping and grating vegetables. But for grinding idli dosa batter perfectly, I found our good old mixer is better than a food processor. If you are particularly looking for food processors, there are many good brands like Black and decker, Kenwood, Cuisinart etc.

Kenwood is a good brand. I have been using my Kenwood food processor since last 7 years.

For Idli Dosa, I use small Ultra Wet Grinder, good enough for a week's worth of idli and dosa.

Ultra Table top wet grinder for Idli/Dosa/Vada/ lentil dosa batter
Preethi - for any dry/wet grinding (powders/masala). can fine grind soaked rice for dosa too!
Cuisinart for grating/thin slicing of veggies like carrot, beets, cabbage, ivy gourd veggies and also in preparation of chapati dough, as well as grinding for lentil vada which requires less water

Not sure if you can find one equipment to fit all the above.
