Finest Blog - Fourth Weekly Pick of August 2012

    Is humanity dying?

No, it is still breathing! With a ray of hope I am putting this blog. We generally observe people addressing somebody who had lent a helping hand at the time of crisis or disaster that “You are God like”. Do they really mean what they say? Only people who have realized the importance of that life saving moment would ever utter these words. Not the wide spread sky, not the vast sea, not the trees and plants and not the magnificent mountains can save this world from all catastrophes. Only the humanity can heal this earth.

People hardly realize the real power of humanity. I would like to highlight an episode titled “Dedication Round” of a music competition that is being telecasted to elect best voice for the music industry from Vijay TV. This program was aired a few months back on Vijay TV. Many participants dedicated the songs to their loved ones and family members. But the mother of a particular participant dedicated the song to a person who saved her life. The person whom she dedicated the song seems to have saved her from dying in a road accident. As per her, she sees that person in the form of God and to pay the gratitude she is in best relationship with his family till this date. To remember his benevolence, she had saved his mobile number with the name “God”.

So, each one of us in one way or other would have perceived God in the form of humanity. In the whole world, the lifesaving activities are generally deliberated as humanity. In India, people are witnessing numerous human Gods who have been donating organs to make others live. I would say this is the peak of humanity. Do not think in the point of view that the person is donating organs because he is dying or they would be removed only after his or her death. Not every human gets this thought. Even if the person is paid for donating, it is still recognized as a humanitarian act. The reason is simple that you are donating something near and dear to you. You are donating something that had grown along with you from your infancy.

There are number of mothers who have donated their dying sons or daughter's organs. There are number of wives who have bequeathed the vital organs of their dying husbands. No other act in this world can replace the humanity or compassion in them. They have kept their dear ones alive saving the dying. Even in their time of tests, they have listened to their instincts. I tell everyone with sheer belief; these humans will never ever grieve for the loss of their dear ones. They have done a humanitarian act. The moment they think of their beloved ones they immediately think of the survivors who had a new lease of life. They are absolute human Gods!

Mishaps occur hugely day in and day out. But the lifesaving activities are observed very less. Human subconscious mind is programmed by God Himself. So, listening to our subconscious mind will always guide us to be a good human. Even in the disastrous time, when the opportunity comes your way to serve humanity, the positive decision you make would greatly influence the people around you.

Donating organs is a wonderful invention of the medical field. In our country the awareness of donating organs is significantly less but the number of patients who are in need of vital organs to survive is more. Instead of igniting the organs to get charred, the noble feeling of donating organs can illumine the lives of people in need. The Government of India had legalized this act in 1994, especially in the cases of brain death.

To reach the value of organ donating to ordinary people, newspaper and media have played a huge role by highlighting the real incidents in the main pages. I too take this opportunity to invigorate people to engage themselves in this noble act through this powerful medium. Humanity will never die as you keep witnessing human Gods every now and then.

    Hi Srinivasan_Vanaja,
You have brought an important topic out here. Two things are highlighted nicely - the gratitude that is rightfully deserved and the awareness about organ donation. Thanks for sharing. -rgs
