sometimes, the temptation to eat sweets and dishes is more because we tell ourselves that we are dieting..:bonk what if we can get around to eating them with a lesser guilt..absolutely i know you agree with me.. so i would like to explore and share my own concoctions over here, i am sure these maybe already tried tested by many out there, but this is for others who love to experiment... this was something i tried last diwali, at the last moment, because we did not have the festival, but wanted the kids to have something..(oh at that point, we were on a weight loss journey as a family..) I made it in 10/15 minutes depending on the quantity. 100 gms custard powder - vannilla flavour 2 tblp skimmed milk powder. 2 tblsp sugar. 1 cup water. 1 tblsp ghee. nuts to taste..i chopped 10 pistas and 10 almonds.. add all the above in a deep mw..bowl..and leave it to cookd inside with the ..for 4 minutes..open, stir.add the ghee, and cook for another 2 minutes. stir again. add half the powdered nuts. cook for another 4 minutes or till you see the ghee leaving and the mixture becoming a dough like consistency.. Spread it on a plate (you can remove the ghee, into another plate, bowl ), and sprinkle the rest of the nuts.cool it. you can cut it into places. usually i wrap them in cling film. it is not too rich, it gives in to the feeling of having a sweet..do try it.
