    Dear Pushpa Mami,

    It was very nice reading your post, this has been the routine in my house all the time with my amma ,appa and paati. I live in US after marriage and working with a 2 year old daughter. I try to adhere to our customs to the extent that am able to. But I don't put kolam here as they sweep it daily afternoon when the apartment servant comes to clean..My husband is orthodox as well and that keeps the spirit going..

    Dear Ps mam,
    Only today I saw this blog . and congrats for being selected the winner of the finest blog. My mother also more of less follows the same routine (though she is 65 now) , gets up at 5 am and washes the front portion of the house, waters tulsi and other plants(they stay in independant house) , puts kolam and after bath chants slokas for half an hour of so and goes to temple starting at 6 am from house (she has one more same aged neighbour lady for company), comes back by 7 after seeing the arthi at temple and then only she has her milk after neivedhyam to God. (she doesnt take coffee, tea etc) From her I have imbibed few practices like observing ekadesi (I too take only liquids and fruit ) . My interest in slokas and pujas got through seeing her do all these right from my young age. Today I feel through me my daughter also will learn all these and that is how we pass on the tradition. Felt quite happy reading your routine. and pray to God that he fulfills your wish and keep you healthy always.

    Seriously, i am 28 and I can't even come anywhere to a thousand km near you.

    wow...But you are one of those whom we read about in those old books.

    people like you are still there????? like my mom:).
    she is just like you but she is 52. cooking, cleaning washing all by hands and no maid.

    Iam 28 and use machines for everything(though feel the same about having maid) and I have lower back pain, heel spur, low Bp and slight cylindrical power..wow....

    The only positive thing about me is just being happy whatever might happen.
