Re: Essentials to get to Australia / New Zealand Hi Coral: I'd like to add more specifics to the baggage limitation. If you are flying on a one-way ticket, please ask the agent/ ariline for 40 Kgs. You can plan if you get this approved soon after you book your tickets. Regards, Prb.
Re: Moving to Melbourne, Australia Hi Chandni: Just as Coral has mentioned in her thread, all spices are available. However, steel utensils can be expensive. Hence it is recommended that you bring them along. You could organise for them too be shipped from India. Please do not include any food items in the shipment as it will have to go through quarantine and may take a long time to clear. If there is an item that cannot be brought in, you may also have to pay penalty for bringing it in. Good luck, Prb.
Re: Assistance required in the field of Medical education Hi Simrah: I just saw your post and I have some information that may be of help to you. The other programs are: up to 20 places at ANU;»»20 places at Flinders; »»10 at Melbourne; »»10 at Monash; »»100 at Queensland; »»45 at Sydney; and »»up to 12 at Wollongong (from the GAMSAT guide in the website). The website provides exhaustive information about admissions, preparation guide. if you happen to be an international student, please make sure to check if you are able to do internship in Australia. Good Luck, prb.
Re: Essentials to get to Australia / New Zealand Dear Coral, Thank you so much. Good I do not need to bring pulses, flours etc, feels so relieved. Also, can you tell me if I need to bring the spice powders like red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander- cumin seeds powder and whole spices like cumin, mustard, coriander, cloves, cinnamom, fenugreek. I will sure pack my utensils as I do not wish to incurr a lot of money on initial set up there. How is Melbourne as a city to live in. How can I get in touch with Indian people? I am eagerly awaiting to get to Melbourne!
Re: Love to meet..meet to love I think we need a seperate thread for this. Any suggestions are welcome!
Re: Moving to Melbourne, Australia Thanks for the information Prb! This forum has been really really helpful! Also, do people here wear Indian clothes during festivals and ocassions. This is so that I can know how many Indian clothes will I need. Also, what is Australia's formal dress code. Do people wear blazers all the time, or a formal pant/skirt with a formal shirt is considered enough!
