    Meeting of the three Muthalazwars

All the three azwars had not entangled themselves in samsara bhandam. They were traveling from one divya desam to another diivya desam, thinking always about Thirumal with deep devotion. It was His ThiruvaruL that made them meet at Thirukovalur. This divya desam is situated at the banks of the river Pennar. It was a rainy day and also nightfall. As the rain started pouring down Poykaiyazwar saw a kutil (cottage) in front of him. It was the kutil of sage MrukaNtu. Azwar went inside and asked permission to stay for the night. Sage MrukaNtu told him to stay at the itai kazi .
(it is the pathway to enter the house.) Poykaiyazwar lied down there. After a little while Puthathazwar also came there and he asked Poykaiyazwar to allow him to stay there. Then Poykaiyazwar told him that one could lie down, but two people could sit in the place. So saying he got up and both of them sat there. After some time Peyazwar also came there and he had asked their permission to spend the night. Puthathazwar told him that one could lie down, two could sit and three could stand in the place. All three stood there and it was pitch dark and they could not see each other. But all three were only talking about the glory of Thirumal. They all felt very glad to know that all three were devotees of Thirumal. Suddenly a lightening blurred their vision and they all felt that a fourth person also had entered the small place to force them to huddle together. In the pitch dark they could not see the person, but only feel his presence. As they were all true devotees and day and night were only thinking, singing and praising the Lord’s glory and fine qualities, through their inner vision they could visualise the Lord in His Garuda Vahanam adorned with Sangu, Chakram,Bright Thiruman and Srichoornam, wearing pattu pithambarm and also could smell the Karpoora vasam.
The three AzhwArs were literally crying, tears rolling down their cheeks, Goose pimples all over their bodies; Chests expanded as if they are going to burst with full of happiness; Their palms were glued to each other; and they were feeling highly elated; Each one of them (one by one) sang 100 pasurams flowing from their mouth as a spring.
Poikaiyazwar started his first Thiruvanthathi pasuram ,’Vaiyam thakaLiyay “ and completed singing hundred pasurams. Then Puthathazwar started the IraNtam ThiruvaNthathi pasuram , “Anpe thakaLiyai Aarvame neyyaka,” and completed the Irantam ThiruvaNthathi. Peyazwar waited till both of them completed and was enjoying the Lord’s Pon Meni’s beauty and started the MunRaam Thiruvanthathi.

    Thiruk kaNten ponmeni kaNten thikazum
Arukkan aNi NiRamum kaNten – seruk kiLarum
Ponnaazi kaNten – puri sangam kaikkaNten
    Ennaazi vaNNanpal inRu

Bhagavan listened to them with full concentration with immense pleasure and then disappeared after blessing them.
Poykaiyazwar through the garland of his paamaalai praised the Lord and prayed for mukthi. Puthathazwar had sung the prapatti markam ( SaraNaagathi thathvam) through his pasurams.
Peyazwar paid his obeisance first to Sri Mahalakshmi and started his pasuram as “ Thiruk kaNten ponmeni kaNten.” According to Vaishnava Sampradayam through Piratti only we could obtain whatever we want. If we approach her she would recommend to Lord to fulfill our wish. Even in day to day life children mostly approach only mother if they want any thing.
As the Lord had wanted to hear the pasurams straight from the Azwars and so He had appeared before them. The three Azwars were happy to see the Lord before them. There after the three Azwars traveled together and completed the divya desa yathra and returned to Thirukovalur and stayed there until they attained Vaikuntha prapthi.

I am blessed to be able to read these lines..thanks so much for writing and sharing..I can only imagine when the fourth person arrived there..ISnt that the purpose of life itself..being attained by the noble men on that rainy night?. Is not that the reason our dear lord sent his men down to earth..so he could revel in the music and songs sung by them..looking out to more..

    Dear AC,
It is really a wonderful experience for humans to see God in front of them and God also enjoys His devotees singing in praise of Him! Those who enjoyed Bhagavan's sowndaryam and saulabyam were really blessed ones!
    Love,
    Pushpavalli

    Dear Sriniketan,
The first three pasurams of the three Azwars are very beautiful and meaningful. During her twilight period my mother's eye sight was very poor. She used to tell methat she couldn't light the lamp and hence started saying these pasurams and deriving satisfaction out of it!
    Love,
    Pushpavalli

This is wonderful - In kaliyugam, when things are running at light speed, you are accumulating more punyams just by getting this message across so that people like me can read it. More please!
